Eight of the best CS2 teams in the world will be fighting for their cut of a $1 million prize pool in Singapore this November.
We now know the eight Counter-Strike 2 (CS2) teams that will be competing in the BLAST Premier: World Final 2024: Natus Vincere (NAVI), Team Vitality, Team Spirit, FaZe Clan, G2 Esports, MOUZ, Team Liquid, and Astralis.
These eight teams will be battling in the Resorts World Convention Centre in Sentosa, Singapore from October 30 to November 3 for the lion's share of a $1 million prize pool as well as the right to call themselves the BLAST Premier 2024 champions.
The participating teams in the finale of the BLAST Premier 2024 season are comprised of the winners of some of the other biggest CS2 events of the year as well as top-ranked teams in the BLAST Premier World Leaderboard.
Spirit were the first to qualify for this year's BLAST World Final after winning IEM Katowice 2024 in February and the BLAST Premier: Fall Final 2024 in June. Their victory at the Fall Final notably gave an additional spot in the World Final for a team from the BLAST World Leaderboard.
Second to qualify were NAVI off their victory in the PGL Major Copenhagen 2024 in March. They have arguably been the most dominant team this season, boasting victories in the Esports World Cup 2024 in July and ESL Pro League Season 20 earlier this week to go with their Major trophy from Copenhagen.
The third team that punched their tickets to Singapore are Vitality, who notably won the BLAST Premier: World Final 2023 in Abu Dhabi last December. Vitality earned the opportunity to defend their title after winning IEM Cologne 2024 over NAVI last month.
Meanwhile, the first two spots in this year's BLAST World Final from the BLAST World Leaderboard were claimed by FaZe and G2 after solid performances throughout the year.
FaZe sits fourth in the leaderboard behind NAVI, Vitality, and Spirit thanks to strong performances early in the year. They finished second in IEM Katowice 2024 and in the Copenhagen Major then won IEM Chengdu 2024 in April. G2 are ranked fifth with Top 4 finishes in Copenhagen and Chengdu, second place in the Esports World Cup, and a victory at IEM Dallas 2024.
While there are technically three spots in this year's World Final still up for grabs as the BLAST Premier: Fall Final 2024 is still ongoing, the results of the tournament thus far guarantee that those three spots are going to MOUZ, Liquid, and Astralis. These three teams are ranked sixth, seventh, and eighth in the BLAST World Leaderboard respectively. They locked in their spots after Team Falcons (ranked tenth) failed to make it out of the Fall Final Group Stage and thus couldn't gain any more points.
The BLAST Premier: World Final 2024 will be hosted in the Resorts World Convention Centre in Sentosa, Singapore from October 30 to November 3. The champions will walk away with the grand prize of $500,000 out of the tournament's $1 million prize pool.
The BLAST Premier: World Final 2024 is split into two phases: the Group Stage and the Playoffs.
The Group Stage will follow a double-elimination GSL format and will split the eight participating teams into two groups of four teams each, where all matches will be a best-of-three. Three teams from each group will advance to the Playoffs, with the top seed advancing to the semifinals and the second and third-seeded teams advancing to the quarterfinals as the High and Low Seeds respectively.
The Playoffs will be a single-elimination bracket where the quarterfinals and the semifinals will be best-of-three series, while the grand finals will be a full best-of-five showdown for the BLAST World Final 2024 trophy.
