The signup is on the back of his temporary stint as a stand-in for the team
OG’s CS:GO division has confirmed that they have added Nikolaj “niko” Kristensen into their roster for 2021. The decision comes after the 22-year-old Dane played for the team as a stand in at the ongoing ESL Pro League S13 as well as at the DreamHack Masters Spring Qualifiers.
The team did not achieve big successes in both competitions; nevertheless, they found that the jived with niko’s playstyle, which resulted in them transitioning him as a permanent active member.
Niko used to play with Heroic, where he steered the team at the ESL One: Cologne 2020 Online: Europe and DreamHack Open Fall 2020. There they won over France’s Vitality twice in the Grand Final.
“When we realised Nikolaj was available, he jumped to our top candidate for the team. Valde and Casper had a lot of insights on him already, so it made the decision easier for us. In a short amount of time, he has really impressed me, especially with how selfless he is and how he communicates with the team. Even though we have a lot to work on, our first task is to try our best in the EPL Groupstage. Let’s get it.” Aleksi “Aleksib” Virolainen OG’s IGL
“We would like to welcome Niko to the family and to the organization. We are thrilled to have him, and I believe together we can elevate OG CSGO to the next level. He is incredibly talented, and I think he will gel really well with the team. I feel very optimistic about the future!” JMR Luna - CEO of OG Esports
