Crowns back in CS: GO with new team

Swedish esports organsation Crowns announced its new Counter-Strike: Global Offensive team consisting of five Swedish players.

Crowns' new roster won't be their first in CS:GO, as the organization had an all-Swedish roster from July 2016 to March 2017. During that period, despite an impressive second place at ESEA Season 22 Global Challenge, the team failed to impress the management, hence tje parties parted ways after eight months.

The brand-new Crowns roster features a familiar face, Mattias "bENNY" Rosbäck who was also a part of the previous roster. Joining him will be four ex-Preparation members in Joachim "darti" Fornstedt, Rasmus "Zitte" Johansson, Samuel "decent" Oldenburg and Simon "downie" Storm. Apart from them, David "Jayzwalkingz" Kempner is also under contract with Crowns but the 20 year-old player currently plays for Fnatic as a loanee. The brand new Crowns roster will be coached by Samuel "Zyppe" Martinsson.

In the official announcement, Crowns stated that they believe the upcoming summer would be one of their most exciting summers.

We are very happy to welcome our new CS:GO men team to the Crowns family. They are joining us at an exciting time of year, as we are moving into a busy season consisting of both larger events, Such as Dreamhack Summer and Dreamhack Valencia. Together with smaller events such as Birdie LAN, just outside of Stockholm, Sweden. Birdie LAN will also be the place where we our team will make their introduction to the scene under the Crowns flag.

We are hopeful that with fresh ideas and enthusiasm, this will be one of our most exciting summers ever and the start of a new direction for our CS:Go men team.

The following Crowns roster will make their debut at Birdie LAN, a local Swedish LAN event:

Sweden Mattias "bENNY" Rosbäck
Sweden Rasmus "Zitte" Johansson
Sweden Joachim "darti" Fornstedt
Sweden Simon "downie" Storm
Sweden Samuel "decent" Oldenburg
