Sentinels and Leviatán are in prime position for a direct bye to the Playoff upper bracket semifinals.
The action-packed ‘Super Week’ for the 2024 VALORANT Champions Tour (VCT) Americas League Stage 2 Group Stage has just concluded, with Sentinels and Leviatán emerged as the biggest winners with perfect 4-0 outings.
Sentinels swept KRÜ Esports and Cloud9 (C9) while Leviatán cruised through 100 Thieves (100T) and Evil Geniuses (EG). With those victories, Sentinels and Leviatán have also accrued clean 3-0 records so far in Stage 2 and topped Groups Alpha and Omega, respectively.
However, Leviatán are the ones leading in the overall standings for the Americas with a 7-1 record through Stage 1 and halfway into Stage 2.
Sentinels, on the other hand, are in second place in the standings with a 6-3 record. However, they do lead the Americas with 12 Championship points off of winning the Americas Kickoff and Masters Madrid as well as finishing in 7th-8th place in Stage 1 and their three wins so far in Stage 2.
Should Leviatán and Sentinels maintain their current winning form through the rest of the Group Stage, they will earn a leg up in the Playoffs with a direct bye to the upper bracket semifinals.
Leviatán and Sentinels were not the only teams to win all their matches of the Super Week though, as G2 Esports did sweep NRG in the one match they played during the week.
Meanwhile, all the other teams in the Americas did not finish the week with positive records.
EG, 100T, LOUD, NRG, and FURIA Esports all split their two matches of the Super Week.
EG started the Super Week by sweeping FURIA before they themselves were swept by Leviatán. 100T also got swept by Leviatán but did the same to MIBR. LOUD defeated MIBR, 2-1, before falling to FURIA, 1-2. NRG got swept by NRG Esports but managed to defeat KRÜ Esports, 2-1. And while FURIA did defeat LOUD, they were swept by EG.
Coming out of the Super Week with heads hanging low are MIBR, KRÜ, and C9 after they lost all their matches of the Super Week.
Here are the results for all the matches in the VCT Americas Stage 2 Group Stage Super Week:
- EG 2-0 FURIA
- Sentinels 2-0 KRÜ
- LOUD 2-1 MIBR
- Leviatán 2-0 100T
- G2 2-0 NRG
- Sentinels 2-0 C9
- Leviatán 2-0 EG
- FURIA 2-1 LOUD
- 100T 2-0 MIBR
- NRG 2-1 KRÜ
Who will make the Playoffs?
As things stand, Leviatán (7-1) and Sentinels (6-3) top the overall standings and have all but secured a spot in the Playoffs. The pair are even in prime position for a bye to the upper bracket semifinals.
Meanwhile, G2, KRÜ, and C9 all have 5-3 overall records so far and should also make the Playoffs.
Vying for the last Playoff spot are 100T (4-4), EG (4-4), and NRG (4-5). LOUD (3-5) are technically still in contention for the Playoffs, though it’s highly unlikely they will make it.
Finally, FURIA (2-6) and MIBR (0-8) have both been mathematically eliminated from Playoff contention. For these two South American teams, the next two weeks are sure to seem very long as any win moving forward will unfortunately be for naught.
Here are the overall standings for the VCT Americas Stage 2 so far:
- Leviatán: 7-1
- Sentinels: 6-3
- G2 Esports: 5-3
- KRÜ Esports: 5-3
- Cloud9: 5-3
- 100 Thieves: 4-4
- Evil Geniuses: 4-4
- NRG: 4-5
- LOUD: 3-5

There's still a lot of VALORANT left to play in the Americas though. Week 3 of the Group Stage will take place from 6 to 8 July while Week 4 will run from 12 to 14 July. Things may seem settled for now, but who knows what surprises lie in store for the league in the closing weeks of the Group Stage?
