VCT Pacific Stage 2 will take place over a month to determine who goes to Champions later this year.

The VCT 2024: Pacific Stage 2 franchise league is here as we slowly move towards VCT Champions just a few months away. The Pacific region will be looking to make a splash at VCT Champions after one of its own walked away with the Masters Shanghai trophy just a few weeks ago. Gen.G Esports made two international VCT LAN grand finals in a row and was successful on its second attempt after they defeated Team Heretics.

Having said that, the VCT Pacific Stage 2 poses a different challenge altogether as Gen.G have had to battle against Paper Rex twice already this season. Gen.G won during the Pacific Kickoff while PRX got its revenge at VCT Pacific Stage 1. With the score tied, both teams would be looking to get the edge for this season. However, other teams can pose a threat at this stage of the season with DRX, Team Secret, and Rex Regum Qeon looking to change up the script.

VCT Pacific Stage 2 - Format & Schedule

  • Group Stage: June 15th - July 8th
  • Playoffs: July 12th - 21st

Stage 2 of VCT Pacific is similar to Stage 1 in that all 11 teams are divided into the same groups as before. However, what's different this time is that instead of playing against teams from the other groups, VCT Pacific Stage 2 will now have the teams from the same group going up against one another. Both single round-robin groups will go on for four weeks with two games played every Saturday, Sunday, and Monday.

Regardless of group placements, the top six teams from the overall leaderboard of both Stage 1 and Stage 2 will qualify for the playoffs. This will take place four days after the conclusion of the group stage and it will feature a hybrid elimination bracket. The top two teams from the overall leaderboard will receive an automatic bye to the double-elimination, upper-bracket semifinals. They will await their opponents from the knockout round, which will be single-elimination.

This will include the teams that placed between third to sixth with only two making it through to the double-elimination phase of the playoff bracket. From there, the final four teams will battle it out to see who will miss out on a spot to VCT Champions. All games during the playoffs are a best-of-three series while the lower bracket final and grand final are a best-of-five. There will also be two map pool changes expected to be made as Haven will make its return in place of Breeze from Week 2 onwards while VALORANT's latest map, Abyss will replace Split once playoffs start.

VCT Pacific Stage 2 - Prize Pool

As mentioned earlier, the top three teams from VCT Pacific Stage 2 will be heading to Champions later this year. There will also be no Pacific Points available as every series win from here on out grants one point instead. In its place will be a $250,000 USD prize pool that will be split among the final six teams that made it to the playoffs.

VCT Pacific Stage 2 - Teams

Of the 11 teams in VCT Pacific, it is currently DRX in the top spot after they went 5-0 during the group match in Stage 1. Despite not making it far in the playoffs, they still have a superior advantage as they have yet to drop a group-stage series thus far. However, right behind them include the likes of Paper Rex, Talon Esports, Rex Regum Qeon, and the VCT Masters Shanghai champions, Gen.G Esports. The current Masters winners are lagging behind with a grasp for the final six and will have to win all its matches to ensure they qualify for the playoffs.
