Patch 8.01 reopens Breeze A-hall and highlights changes on Skye, Iso, and Raze.
A major change in Breeze A site was made in Patch 8.01. Riot has been collecting feedback on the recent map changes and they were satisfied with the simplification to A main, Mid, and B main. However, they noticed that A-hall was too restrictive because of its barrier.
Players have the same sentiment. A-hall has little to no value for attackers. Lurking through A-hall is almost impossible because it’s too far from mid. Defenders find little value to A-hall during retakes because it’s an angle that is easy to clear or smoke off.
Riot decided to open A-hall once again. This means another path to hitting A-site or lurking around.
Aside from this change, Patch 8.01 also brought changes to Skye, Iso, and Raze.
Skye
Skye is one of the best Initiators in the current meta. She might be a little overpowered at times and Riot decided to turn down the notch.
A major change to Skye’s Guiding Light (E) has been implemented. Her flash no longer recharges. This means that Skye should now be more intentional when using her flash, may it be gathering information or setting up for a kill.
Another update to her flash is it can no longer be used as a fake flash. Skye is the only agent who can fake her flashes. This mechanic has created a lot of unique plays for Skye users and made her flashes difficult to dodge or counter.
Guiding Light (E)
- Guiding Light no longer regenerates charges during a round.
- Guiding Light now automatically activates the flash at the end of its lifetime.
Seekers (X)
- When a Seeker gets close to its target, the target player will now get a yellow directional warning indicator.
Iso
Iso received a few buffs this patch. Riot increased the duration of energy orb which provides a slightly larger time window for Iso to deal with threats. The buff and shield durations were also increased.
Double Tap (E)
- Shootable orb duration increased 2 >>> 3 seconds
- Initial buff and shield duration increased 15 >>> 20
- Shield width reduced 120 >>> 100
Contingency (C)
- Cost reduced 250 >>> 200
Raze
The sound queue for Raze’s Blast Pack has been updated. This update should let you identify Raze’s position clearly whenever she satchels in your location.
Blast Pack (Q)
- Audio for Raze traveling through the air with Blast Pack is now louder when she is traveling towards you
There is also a change in the projectile of jump throw normalization. When players press the throw projectile input within 100 ms of a jump start, the projectile will consistently have the same amount of velocity imparted from the thrower and as a result land consistently in the same location.
There are also some minor game changes included in Patch 8.01. Orbs will now Spawn in the Range for Reyna and Iso. This was removed before but Riot is bringing it back. However, they will not spawn in Shooting Tests.
Riot also fixed some bugs in several maps including Breeze’s A-hall door, Lotus’ Crumbled Pillar on C site, Icebox’s Container on B Green, and Split’s Vents.
