BBL Queens have set up a semifinal showdown against Shopify Rebellion.
In what was arguably the closest quarter-final series to date, it was BBL Queens who edged out the win over KRÜ Blaze at the VALORANT Game Changers Championship. It was the tournament's fourth straight 2-0 victory but was by no means a walk in the park for BBL. In both games, KRÜ made them work for the map wins.
The first match took place on Sunset and it was BBL who got off to a perfect start with a four-round win streak. This also included a pistol round 4K from Constanza “conir” Reyes. BBL was finally able to get on the board in the fifth round and KRÜ would take one back in the sixth, courtesy of a 2v1 clutch by conir. But by the seventh round, BBL was able to assert dominance to take the next five rounds in a row.
And it was in the 10th round where BBL managed to even the score after some clutch play from Nur “Eva” Çakır, who not only secured a 4K but did it while in a 1v4 situation. BBL would go on to take the last two rounds of the first half to give themselves a slim 7-5 lead. They soon went on to win the pistol round at the start of the second half but KRÜ took two straight rounds in quick response to put themselves within one point. But it wasn't meant to be as BBL went on to win five straight rounds in a row to take the first game.
BBL shifted the momentum from the first game and brought it over to the second where they started out strong on Bind with six straight round wins. Aleyna “Vania” Keskin was responsible for starting the team on the right foot with a 4K during the pistol round. From there, they would go on to win nine of the 12 rounds in the first half, which meant they only needed four more in the second to win.
However, KRÜ was able to claw themselves back with five straight round wins in a row with the help of Lorena “micaela” Ferreyra and Romina “romi” Álvarez, both of whom got 4Ks in the 13th and 15th rounds respectively. But even with all the momentum at KRÜ's end, BBL somehow managed to pull off great defence to secure the 18th and 19th round to put themselves within two. KRÜ managed to get the next two rounds and took a slim 11-10 lead but it was Vania again who came up with her second 4K of the match to get the diffuse and match point.
While KRÜ did manage to pull one back, they needed to win the final round to send it to overtime. And it was Zehra “Felipa” Durak who placed the team on her back by not only winning her 1v1 but proceeded to get a 3K as well to seal the series for BBL
