It has been confirmed that Daveeys passed away at age 23 by his organisation, KRÜ Esports.
Professional VALORANT player for KRÜ Esports, Santiago "Daveeys" Galvis Ruiz has passed away. The news was first posted and confirmed by KRÜ earlier today via Twitter.
He was only 23 years of age, having just celebrated his birthday a day before his passing. It was first posted two hours ago at the time of writing and has since garnered over two-and-a-half million views.
Daveeys signed with KRÜ during the off-season last year and helped to bring his team to VCT Champions 2023 after they won the last-chance qualifiers. Despite finishing last during the VCT Americas League, KRÜ made a fairytale run during the LCQ, having started from the first round and climbed their way to the grand finals.
They defeated the likes of FURIA Esports and Cloud9 as well as took out Leviatán twice to make their Champions debut. Unfortunately, KRÜ could only get as far as the group stage after suffering losses against Paper Rex and Giants.
