The final six teams for the VCT Ascension Pacific are confirmed

The VCT Ascension Pacific playoffs will begin in a couple of days.

After a full week of group stage matches for the top 10 teams of each region in the VCT Ascension Pacific, it has finally been concluded and we are down to the final six teams for the playoffs. It will take place from July 7 - 9 at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Centre in Bangkok, Thailand in front of a live audience.

Making their way into the playoffs first will be NAOS Esports and Bleed eSports, two teams that finished top of their respective groups. This gave them an automatic bye to the semifinals where they will await the winners of the quarterfinal match-ups. NAOS will face up against the winner between SCARZ and Fancy United Esports while Bleed will go up against either BOOM Esports or Bonkers.

Unfortunately for the local fans in attendance, Thailand's very own XERXIA could not make it past the group stage after their final group stage day loss against BOOM. That win enough for the Indonesian organisation to secure a playoff spot. Other notable exclusions from the playoffs include Dplus KIA and Orangutans, two teams that many predicted to go through to the next round.

VCT Ascension Pacific - Playoff Bracket

Quarterfinals

Semifinals

  • Match 3: NAOS Esports vs Winner of Match 1 (July 8, 4.00 pm GMT+7)
  • Match 4: Bleed eSports vs Winner of Match 2 (July 8, 7.00 pm GMT+7)

Grand Finals

  • Winner of Match 3 vs Winner of Match 4 (July 9, 4.00 pm GMT+7)

The VCT Ascension Pacific playoffs will be a single-elimination bracket with all matches being a best-of-three series, except for the grand finals, which will be a best-of-five. With both NAOS and Bleed already through to the semifinals, they are afforded an extra day's rest as well as not having to play an additional best-of-three series.

As for the quarterfinal matches, the likes of SCARZ will be one of the teams to watch given that it finished level on points with Bleed during the group stages. The only reason the Japanese org still has to fight in the quarterfinals is down to its sole loss against Bleed, which gave the Malaysia & Singapore representatitve the advantage after the group stage.

In the other series between BOOM and Bonkers, it will be anyone's game given that both teams are level on points from the group stage. The squad from Oceania is seen as one of the underdogs of the tournament seeing as its the only org-less team in the tournament. And the fact it was able to defeat the likes of Dplus and Orangutans says a lot about the Australian team.

The winner of the VCT Ascension Pacific will not only walk away with a lion's share of the $100,000 USD prize pool, they will also get a spot in the VCT Pacific League for the 2024 and 2025 seasons. This will not only grant the winner greater visiblity to a global audience, but also the chance to compete for placements at international tournaments like the VALORANT Masters and Champions.

Be sure to catch all the action in a couple of days, only on the official VCT Ascension Pacific Twitch channel.
