Only one spot at the VCT Pacific League is up for grabs amongst the top 10 regional Challengers league teams.
The VCT Ascension Pacific is upon us with Bangkok, Thailand as the official host of the tournament. From June 28 to July 9, all the champions from the top 10 regional Challengers leagues in Asia-Pacific will compete for not only a share of the $100,000 prize pool but also a spot at next year's VCT Pacific League.
VT Ascension Pacific will feature teams from all part of the Asia-Pacific region, including Thailand, the Philippines, Japan, Korea, Oceania, Indonesia, Vietnam, Malaysia & Singapore, Taiwan & Hong Kong, as well as South Asia. This will give second-tier teams a chance of making it big on the international stage with the chance of competing at major tournaments like Masters and Champions.
VCT Ascension Pacific - Format & Schedule
The group stage of the VCT Ascension Pacific will start from June 28 to July 4 with 10 teams being split into two groups of five. All matches in the group stage are a single round-robin, best-of-three format with only the top-three teams from each group moving on to the playoffs.
Winners of the group stage will get an automatic bye to the semifinals of the playoffs. As for the teams that placed in second and third, they will head to the quarterfinals of the playoffs. The playoffs will take place from July 7 - 9 in a single-elimination format, which will be held at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Centre. All matches will be a best-of-three except the grand finals, which will be a best-of-five.
While the $100,000 prize pool will be shared across all competitors, the winner will walk away with a lion's share of $20,000 as well as a guaranteed spot at the VCT Pacific League in 2024 and 2025. The first runner-up will get $15,000 while third and fourth will each get $10,000 each.

With only one spot to the VCT Pacific League up for grabs, it will be anyone's tournament to claim it. While XERXIA will have the home ground advantage with a massive crowd behind them, the likes of Orangutan, BOOM, and Dplus will be looking to cause an upset. Other teams that will have the chance to pull off an upset include the likes of Bleed eSports as well as SCARZ with the potential to be the dark horses of the tournament.
