Entire matchup and teams playing have been released for the annual tournament.
The biggest annual event for VALORANT, Champions 2022, is upon us - where the best VALORANT team of the year will be crowned at the end of the competition. Two Masters, several LCQs along with sweat and tears culminate in the three-week competition where 16 teams will be competing to see who the best of the best for VALORANT is in 2022.
Teams playing
Based on the list released by Riot, the following teams will be playing in Istanbul for Champions 2022:
- NA
- EMEA
- Brazil/South America
- APAC
- KR/JP/East Asia
The sixteen teams will be split into four groups to determine which teams will be moving to the Playoffs.
Mechanics and Format
The format for Champions will be as follows:
- Group Stage
- Four (4) groups of four
- Double elimination format
- All matches Bo3
- Top two (2) teams from each group advance to Playoffs
- Playoffs stage
- Eight (8) teams in a double-elimination bracket
- All matches other than Finals are Bo3
- Lower Bracket Finals and Grand Finals are Bo5
