A Fan’s Guide to VALORANT Champions 2023

VALORANT Champions 2023 has started. What’s in store for the fans?

The highly anticipated VALORANT tournament of the year showers fans with jaw-dropping gameplays, free Twitch drops, event pass, exclusive Champions skins, and limited-edition Champion merchandise.

A total of 16 teams are vying for the Champions 2023 crown and a chunk of the $2.25 million prize pool. This year will be at a higher stake because the winner will take home a record-breaking $1 million.

VCT for fans

For fans, VALORANT Champions 2023 season is the best way to commemorate the ending of the VCT Season. Riot Games has offered a lot of ways for fans to celebrate and support the said tournament. Seat back and buckle up as the best VALORANT pro teams gathered in the final stage to provide top-tier content.

Watch VALORANT Champions and earn Twitch drops

Fans are invited to tune in and earn exclusive in-game content. Watch the action on Twitch and earn a title, spray, and banner.

Here are the requirements for each reward:

  • Title: Lowrider – Watch a live game between August 6 to August 13 (Group Stage Games)
  • Spray: Gekko Diff – Watch a live game between August 16 to August 25 (Playoffs Games)
  • Player Card: Champions 2023 – Watch a live game on August 26 (Grand Finals)

VCT Twitch drops

Twitch drops are customary during VCT events. These titles, sprays, and banners are exclusive and cannot be obtained again once the scheduled live games have ended. Make sure to link your Riot account on Twitch by going to Settings > Connections > Riot Games > Connect.

This will prompt a Riot account sign-in page and the progress for the Twitch drop will be visible on chat. A notification will also appear once the item is obtained.

Some players have to wait for 1-2 days before the items appear in their VALORANT inventory while most players receive the rewards instantly. If the rewards were not granted after a few days, fans are advised to raise a ticket to Riot Support and report the issue.

Play games to get exclusive rewards

Players were given a free Champions 2023 event pass for a chance to earn exclusive rewards. Play games to gain enough XP and progress through the event pass.

Aside from the cute Octobuddy, the 20 Radianite points will surely be sought-after by fans who needed gun upgrades. Radianite points cost a lot and are difficult to obtain. Players who invest in skins tend to always lack points for upgrades every time a new bundle arrives.

Some skins that have different animations such as Radiant Entertainment and Forsaken have different finishers and upgrade levels. Thus, these skin lines require a lot of Radianite points for fans to be able to maximize the effects and animations.

Here are the exclusive rewards that are up for grabs:

  • Level 1: Happy Octopus spray
  • Level 2: Tearjerker Title
  • Level 3: 10 Radianite Points
  • Level 4: Champions Squad Player Card
  • Level 5: One More Title
  • Level 6: 10 Radianite Points
  • Level 6: Octobuddy Gun Buddy

The experience points required for each level gradually increase so players should watch out for the progress bar.

Support your favorite team by purchasing Champions 2023 bundle

The third iteration of VALORANT Champions also meant a third Champions bundle. This exclusive skin line will only be available throughout the Champions 2023 tournament. After that, it will not appear in the store rotation or night market.

This year’s Champions bundle includes a Vandal skin and a Kunai. As usual, there’s a special inspect sound and a unique interaction with the finisher.

Champions 2023 bundle

Riot reminds fans that this will only be the chance to get their hands on the prestigious skin line. Riot also announced that the participating teams for VALORANT Champions 2023 will receive a portion of the sale.

Fans will get the chance to support the tournament and their favorite teams as 50% of the Champions bundle sale will be equally divided among the qualified teams. This has always been the case with the past Champions bundle.

The first Champions bundle was back in 2021 and featured a Vandal and a karambit. Champions Bundle 2022 featured a Phantom skin and a butterfly knife. The bundles raised $7.5 million and $16 million respectively.

Indeed, this was a nice add-on to the team’s take-home money powered by the VALORANT community.
