NonY Defeats A2 in MOTC

The semi finals for the Masters of the Craft tournament were played earlier today. NonY defeated his Russian opponent in a close 2-1 victory.

MOTC has been going on for some time now, many intense rounds have been played. Some of the best players from around the world gathered to duke it out for a cash prize. Today the semi finals have been completed and now we have our finalists, the games were hard fought and intense. Here is a review of NonY and Advokates games.

Game 1

The first game was played on

Tau Cross with NonY at the 11 o'clock and A2 at 2. The American Protoss decided to go with a 2 gate goon opening and quickly got 4 goons out front of his opponents base to scout units leaving. Advokate went with a quick expo at his natural and NonY responded by throwing up one at his natural and his third to the east.

A2 was in trouble at this point, NonY was ahead economically and had begun his carrier tech rather quickly. The Russian went ahead and put up another expo at his third and took the extra base trying to regain a resource advantage, at the same time NonYs first carriers were warping in. A2 had goliaths by this time but the Protoss fleet turned out to be too much for him and he had to type out. 1-0 for NonY

Game 2

This time the map was

Un' Goro Crater. NonY warped in at 6 and A2 landed at the 9 o'clock position. This time NonY opted for a one gate reaver build which was rather risky since the positions were so close. A2 went with a two factory build which was the perfect counter. He set up a push in front of NonYs base and it was soon over due to some great Terran work by Advokate, 1-1 a tied up match.

Game 3

Game 3 had a very intense atmosphere since both players were now on the verge of victory, the map was

Zodiac. NonY was once again at 6 o'clock while A2 was at the 3 o'clock. They both went with the same build and the tea leaves did not look in NonYs favor once again. After Advokate pushed NonY back from his base he quickly advanced to set up another great push right at the entrance to the Protoss base.

Fortunately for NonY this time he was ready for it, some great reaver micro saved him from falling to an early death. He immediately sent his reavers to A2s base trying to do some economical damage, he was able to take down about 10 scvs and put Advokate behind. NonY moved out of his base with a sizable force of goons, zealots, and of course, his reavers. Advokate met his maker at NonYs hand not long after and was forced to surrender his GG. 2-1 for the American executor.
