Gamespot tells of a new
American TV channel broadcasting gaming news, coverage, and game reviews through the American Cable TV network.
The two companies »
Rainbow Media and »
g-NET Media will together broadcast this channel that they as of now call
24seven Gamer. In the newspost over at »
Gamespot, g-NET has this to say:
"Gamers love innovation, and g-NET's partnership with Mag Rack will demonstrate an entirely new way to experience and learn about today's hit games," said David Getson, CEO and cofounder of g-NET. "This blend of g-NET's insider information and Mag Rack's innovative and cutting-edge delivery format will really satisfy an otherwise underserved target audience."
"In keeping with Mag Rack's mission to provide distinct audiences with a compelling, engaging television experience, 24seven gamer will be produced from the insider's perspective," added Jesse Raiford, director of production operations at Mag Rack. "By partnering with g-NET, Mag Rack will be able to provide even the most discriminating hardcore gamers with a fresh take on what's hot in the world of video games. The channel will be broadcasted in Video-On-Demand (VOD), which gives the customers the ability and the power to access the different programs through an interactive menu on screen.
24seven Gamer's estimated debut in Cable TV is scheduled sometime the next month. This is a project in just the right direction for showing the world that gaming is not a bad thing that keeps the youngsters fat and unhealthy, brainwashing all the gamers due to the inconvenient content in the games. If this will be dealt with in a professional way, and I'm quite sure it will be, this could mean a lot.
