Team Indonesia pulls away from the rest of the pack.
After securing two wins in the first round of the final stage, Indonesia came out swinging on day two with back-to-back-to-back wins in the first three rounds. This puts Indonesia in a good position to secure themselves another gold medal with Vietnam coming in at second and the other Indonesian team at third.
By winning a three-peat of games, which includes Sanhok and twice on Miramar, Indonesia also secured a total of 32 kills from all three map wins. They got 12 kills in the first win, seven in the second, and another 13 on their final map victory. Even Indonesia's other team managed to get the last map win of the day on Erangel with 12 kills to boot.
The other two teams to take away map victories on day two of the final stage were Malaysia and Myanmar, both of whom secured the chicken dinner with eight and nine kills respectively. While Myanmar couldn't get anything else on the board, Malaysia managed to secure a fourth-place finish in game seven as well as two second-place finishes.
However, it was Vietnam who would pose the biggest threat to Indonesia's gold medal challenge. Despite not being able to secure any chicken dinners after two days on the final stage, Vietnam has been able to get two third-place finishes alongside a second-place finish with 15 kills to boot.
Its other Vietnamese team is in the top-five as well, having also secured a second-place finish while also claiming 15 kills to their name. That same Vietnamese squad also got a decent third-place finish to keep themselves in contention. This is also the same squad that achieved a three-peat of second-place finishes on day one.
With the game coming down to the wire on the final day later today, the likes of Vietnam and Indonesia will be looking to go all the way to fight for another gold medal. Indonesia won the gold last year with Vietnam coming in second so they will be out for revenge.
