Duo queueing is the least consistent way to climb. Solo queue if you want to improve.

Been duoing and soloing on and off for about a week. Here's what I've learned.

Duo queueing is amazing IF your duo deserves to be at a higher rank. The problem is that Blizz matchmaking accounts for a duo playing at a higher level, so it gives the other team better players most of the time. Now, if you both deserve and play as if you are a higher rank, you will win most of those games. But if you're a 3300 player playing like a 3700 and your duo is a 3300 playing like a 3300, you will lose, because the team will put two players in who are 3300 playing like they're 3700's. It's meant to counteract boosting, and sometimes it does, but most of the time it makes games unwinnable.

For reference, my main is 4k support; I play everyone on the roster at 4k except Zen. I got to 3.3k support on this alt I never played on, and I started duoing with people because the game is more enjoyable with friends. Games have never been harder for me to win than when I duo.

Anyways TLDR; matchmaker makes games harder if you duo. Only true way to find your rank and get better at the game is solo queueing.
