Ever gone “there’s a Tracer err... Up on the thing behind the house at the edge” thinking there should be better names for certain map points? Well, there are.
Vonethil has been the in game leader for Fnatic for almost a year, only recently stepping down from their starting roster. He knows a thing or two about communication and the need for clear instructions. Now, he and Misfits’ former coach Peak made a big bunch of images, illustrating and naming certain points on all the King of the Hill maps in Overwatch.
Some areas are a given in naming, like “high ground” or “point”. But there’s always odd areas where a Widowmaker is hiding, or a dark alleyway where a Reaper is camping. The point of this album is, according to Vonethil and Peak, to make communication easier in ranked.
If we use the image above as an example, we can see how their callout points work. They have given the important areas a name and a color, all to make it easy for people to understand. But you don’t need to play high tier competitive to use these callouts. You can use them when you play with your friends to make quick work of a camping Bastion main.
You don’t need to be a pro to play like one, just follow the tips they so kindly hand out for free.
