Before Act II premieres, let's take a look at some questions we have about the rest of this Season.
Act II of Arcane Season 2 is just around the corner, but many viewers probably still have plenty of questions. After all, many mysteries were presented in the first three episodes of the second season, leaving viewers with plenty to unpack and speculate about as the plot thickens.
And to prepare us for what might come next, we’ve listed five questions that might define the episodes ahead.
SPOILER ALERT: This is a discussion of the most common questions we have about Act I, Season 2. If you still need to watch episodes 1-3 of Arcane Season 2, please return later.
What happened to Mel?
Probably the most intriguing incident in Act I is Mel's kidnapping toward the end of the first act of Season 2. Amara specifically said that what Ambessa had was "more precious than gold." Â Later on, Mel gets kidnapped by the Black Rose.
What does the Black Rose want from Mel? We all know that Mel survived the blast from Season 1's finale unscathed (and so did Jayce). The question remains: why did she survive, and why is nobody talking about it?
More importantly, what will happen to Mel now that she's in the hands of the Black Rose? In LoL lore, the Black Rose conducted many questionable experiments, especially on mages. Does that mean Mel is a mage, and if so, what's her power?
Where did Jayce, Heimdinger, and Ekko go?
Wild Runes had never existed in LoL lore before, so the introduction of Wild Runes represented uncharted waters, even for LoL fans. These wild runes were also present when Jayce, Heimerdinger, and Ekko went to check things out at the base of the Hextech gates.
Frankly, we don't even understand what happened there, except that the Hextech core at the base of the Hexgates saw an explosion that sucked in Ekko, Heimerdinger, and Jayce. What happened to the three inventors?
What is the significance of the child, Isha?
In Act I, we were introduced to a brown-haired child Jinx unintentionally saved from the Chem Barons.Â
However, the child kept following Jinx and Sevika around. The child has gotten so easily attached to Jinx, but we weren't provided with an explanation of how and why this had happened, except that Jinx had saved her from the chem barons. What is her role in the story? Will she have some influence over Jinx later on in the season?
What was Singed experimenting on?
In every episode in Act I, a a creepy segment focusing on something Singed has been working on extensively in the laboratory has been featured. Fans have long theorised that Vander was the person hanging on Singed's laboratory.Â
After all, in Season 1, Silco explicitly told Singed to do whatever he can (or whatever he wanted) to Vander's half-dead body. So what was Singed trying to achieve through this experiment? What will the outcome be? Is it the champion everyone was looking forward to?
What will happen to Caitlyn and Vi?
One of the more significant bits of the story was about Caitlyn and Vi. For most of Act I, Caitlyn and Vi were on the same page with who they thought the villain of this story was: Jinx.Â
Intending to find Piltover's most wanted criminal, Cait and Vi, along with other Piltover Enforcers, went through every corner and crevice of Zaun, choking off most of the chem barons. However, when presented with the opportunity to kill Jinx, Cait and Vi had different convictions: Vi drew the line at keeping a child safe, rather than prioritising capturing Jinx, while Caitlyn, would do all she could to get the culprit.
The romantic relationship between these two characters has been canon in LoL lore for a long time now, and yet it seems like this difference has driven them to a point of no return. What direction will the story of both characters go, and will their paths diverge once more? Will Caitlyn's hatred get the best of her? Where will Vi go, now that she seemingly has nobody on her side?Â
Hopefully, these questions will be answered in Act II and III, but I'm sure we'll only be faced with more questions later.Â
