LoL Arcane Season 2 hints at Jinx’s unlikely alliance

No season 2 leaks will be discussed.

There’s only a few months left before season 2 of Arcane, the League of Legends animated series on Netflix is released, and Riot had just dropped another teaser on Saturday (10 August).

This wasn’t the first time Arcane has released a teaser, with the first one showcasing Cait and Vi’s post-explosion demeanor and the second featuring a comedic, light-hearted moment between Heimerdinger and Ekko.

Aptly named “Enemy of my enemy,” the new preview follows Jinx and the unlikely alliance that she may have formed.

While this teaser could be a move to detract attention from the Season 2 spoilers that were leaked in the past week, it’s also a treat for dedicated fans who have been doing all they can to avoid the leaked episodes.

Jinx's Desperate Escape

The trailer opens with a high stakes chase scene as League’s infamous Jinx races through the dimly lit streets of Zaun, clutching a mysterious package.

From the looks of it, the package could be Fishbones, Jinx’s notorious rocket launcher, last seen obliterating the Piltover council tower at the climax of Season 1.

The tension escalates as Jinx is ambushed by a group of men led by a chem-baron. Jinx is punched through the gut by a chem-baron powered with green-chemical-infused gauntlets.

She is then pinned to the wall and surrounded by a few chem-barons, before Smeech, the Yordle chem-baron from season 1, points a needle at Jinx’s eye.

“They wanted you alive,” he said. “I never thought I’d catch you blubberin’. I wonder if Silco even saw that?”

Jinx doesn’t flinch, seemingly unaffected by all their actions. “Twice, when he met me, and when I killed him.” She smiles like the loose cannon she often was described as.

Smeech and the other chem-barons take a step back in surprise at the news—while the one with the gauntlet moves to punch her once again.

Enter Sevika: A New Alliance?

Just as the situation for Jinx seems dire, a shot rings out, grazing the hat of her captor. The scene shifts to reveal Sevika, Silco’s former enforcer, stepping from the shadows.

Armed with a pistol reminiscent of the Arcane Sheriff skin from Riot’s tactical shooter VALORANT, Sevika’s appearance raises questions about her motives and the dynamics between her and Jinx.

The trailer leaves fans on a cliffhanger, hinting at a possible uneasy alliance between Sevika and Jinx.

While Sevika was once skeptical of Jinx’s volatile nature, her decision to save her indicates a shift in priorities or an unforeseen strategy in Zaun’s power struggles.

Chem-Barons: Rising power players?

Before this point in Season 2, it was Silco who had been leading the chem-barons. Historically at odds with Jinx due to her reckless behaviour, they would often express concern over his adopted daughter, her experiments, and her unstable nature.

They also questioned some of Silco’s decisions, wanted to seize power of the group and of Zaun for themselves.

With Silco gone, we might be seeing more of Smeech and the others—who have often wanted to take over Zaun—and potentially the effect of their “reign” would be among the weakest and the poorest of the undercity.

An unstable alliance

Sevika’s unexpected intervention on Jinx’s behalf leaves more questions than answers. Despite her previous skepticism toward Jinx, her loyalty to Silco was unwavering, demonstrated by her ruthless actions against those who opposed him.

With Silco gone, Sevika's role in Zaun's criminal landscape remains ambiguous.

Could Sevika’s move to save Jinx be a tactical decision to align with a powerful ally, or does it hint at a deeper narrative arc involving revenge or redemption?

As Season 2 unfolds, the nature of Sevika’s loyalty and her relationship with Jinx will be critical plot elements to watch. The teaser trailer for Arcane Season 2 has sparked numerous theories about the evolving dynamics in Zaun.

With its hints of shifting alliances and power struggles, the upcoming season promises to deliver intense drama and complex character developments.
