On Day 2 of the Mobile Legends Professional League Playoffs from Season 12 in the Philippines, we witnessed a monumental victory for Blacklist International over ECHO, before AP.Bren and RSG PH went the distance – with the former taking the win. Today, we saw a massive upper bracket final, as the winners went head-to-head, ready to secure the first spot for the region at the M5 World Championship.
The Hive is alive
Having come out fighting against ECHO, Blacklist tried to do the same against Bren, but the M2 World Champion organisation already had their number decoded. In the first two games, Bren found every weak point on The Agent’s lineup and dominated the Land of Dawn objectives, swiftly going up 2-0 in the series. With match point in hand, Bren went into game three with vigour, but this time Blacklist seemed ready to put up a fight.
However, even with all the work that Blacklist had put into game three, Bren was just a step ahead, finding the right moments to take fights and the crucial timing to take down the Crystal. In what is the first clean sweep of the MPL PH Season 12 playoffs, AP.Bren destroyed and dismantled Blacklist, claiming a 3-0 series win.
With that, for the first time since M2, Bren will return to the hallowed grounds of the M5 World Championship – which begins in December 2023. The team will also be the first grand finalist in the MPL PH Season 12 playoffs, where they await their challenger for the best-of-seven grand final. For Blacklist International, all hope is not yet lost, as they drop into the lower bracket final where they will need to take on either ECHO or RSG PH to secure a rematch against AP.Bren.
