Stay Green crushes HoN Tour Finals

It was a pure outing of power once again - Stay Green delivered yet another flawless offline tournament. After the Garena Star League 2013 the team gets the HoN Tour Season 1 Championship without losing a single map at the Finals.

It is not even a month ago when swindlemelonzz and his boys from the practice facility in Miami, Florida hoisted the GSL Trophy - the first Offline Championship for the team and the individual members. Emotions ran high, swindlemelonzz was in disbelieve and humbled by the major success that the Thailand event was for him and his squad.

Now the team can bring home another Championship now after completely destroying the competition at the Hardwood Suite in Las Vegas, Nevada. Their run started yesterday with the opening match of the festivities at the Palms, when swindlemelonzz led his squad to a demanding and quick 3:0 sweep over the wildcard team Lions eSports. Before that match was even on the horizon, swindle already teased another flawless and undefeated run through the tournament on his Twitter-feed - it turned out to be a prophecy and not just a confident statement.

While their Grand Finals opponents Trademark eSports had to go all five maps against compLexity Gaming, Stay Green could kick back and relax in the Casino Capital of the world. Still they did not overindulge in the shining city, once it was game time again, they brought their A-Game. They were in command of every single map against their long-time nemesis and GSL Grand Final opponents Trademark eSports, finishing the first two games in 17 and 25 minutes respectively. The third map took a little bit longer with Trademark eSports trying out a aggressive Legioneer strategy, but it only prolonged the inevitable - the second major Championship for Stay Green.

The team now enters the off season with a huge amount of confidence and a big chunk of price money in their bank accounts. The GSL Championship brought them $30,000 USD, this HoN Tour title now flushes $32,000 USD into the Stay Green account. Trademark eSports walks away as the runner-up in both cups, but can still win a respectable amount of $26,000 USD in total ($10k GSL / $16k HoN Tour).

Winning the third place match at the venue in Las Vegas was the American-Danish mix of compLexity Gaming. The crew around drafter and captain bkid had a difficult time with the Swedish team from Lions eSports, but in the end they could turn around the third map and score the $8,000 USD that go along with the Bronze Medal.

On an individual note Stay Green's designated Jungle player Chessie was voted the MVP of the HoN Tour Finals event. The player from Sweden and older brother of Limmp won the award by a landslide with 32% of the votes. Second on that list is his teammate swindlemelonzz with 17% of the votes, third and fourth are Khezu and sLiCKz with 14% and 13%, also from Stay Green.
