With all the commotion and excitement surrounding the season two finals, it's been a while since League of Legends had a balance patch. That being the case, RIOT's Phreak posted a detailed forum thread about some of the main changes that are coming soon. Starting with Rengar, he said that RIOT will be "taking the bonus from a Ferocity-charged Savagery attack down to a more reasonable level. We’re also reducing his base Health Regen to make him less sustainable in lane."

Evelynn is another champion that has been on a bit of power level rollercoaster in recent months. But you know that when Alex Ich plays a champion in the world finals she must have something going for her - little too much, according to Phreak. "We’re going to be dialing back the Ability Power ratio on her ultimate quite a bit," he said. " It can brutally spike down an enemy before they can react."

Part of the problem there is Eve's favourite item: The DFG. "Deathfire Grasp is a particularly challenging item to balance," wrote Phreak. "We’ll be scaling back stat bonuses attached to DFG." On top of that, he made it clear that RIOT intends the item to be used for helping against tanky characters in the late game:

"We’re also scaling back the base damage on the active effect, but increasing the AP ratio to move it more toward the intended function of dealing with big, beefy tanks later in the game when you’ve had time to build up a bunch of Ability Power."

Jayce was another important figure in the S2WC and he too will take a hit from the nerf hammer. "The combination of Acceleration Gate and Shock Blast provides him with too much low cost poke," wrote Phreak. The mana cost of gate is going up but that's not all. "We also removed the flat base damage from Thundering Blow." On a similar small-but-important note, RIOT will also be removing the attack speed flow from Ezreal's Essence Flux in an attempt to curtail his dominance. One of his favourite items will also get a small nerf, as Phage and Trinity Force are having their slows reduced for ranged champions.

Finally, Both Blitzcrank and Sona - two of the most-played supports - will also take a slight hit. "Both are actually too durable for the functions their currently serve," wrote Phreak. Both champions will have their durability scaled back a little, to increase the gap between risk and reward.
