Hawk had it tough reaching the final in the first place, and he wasn't about to make it easy for himself once he was there. The best-of-five against Sonik went right to the wire - both players trading maps back and forth, and even the last map brought out an extremely close, hard-fought game.
Heading into that the final map, with the scored tied at 2-2, Sonik opted for the unusual choice of Firelord first on Turtle Rock. After using it to harass, it really paid off when Hawk attempted what looked like a tier two tower rush. But the combination of fire spawns and a fresh Brewmaster's AoE shut it down for the time being. No towers were even started, but Hawk did manage to pick off the Firelord. The action didn't let up, though. The human army went back to heal and was back for more by the time the Firelord had respawned. Still, no real damage was done, and the militia did little to help Hawk's aggression.
Sonik's army was smaller but apparently stronger, as he microed well enough to force the superior numbers of Hawk out of his base, picking up an Archmage kill for his efforts. Weirdly, the first time they fought with Sonik in the lead, he was the one forced to teleport away. In the end, superior upgrades made the difference, with Hawk's 2-0 riflemen able to pepper his opponent's bears and dryads from afar. Sonik had no answer, and left the game shortly after losing his retreating Firelord.
