The Mineski organisation opened a can of worms with their abrupt complete make-over of their Dota 2 squad (see) just a day before they were scheduled to play in the Eastern Qualifier for 2012's edition of The International. This caused quite a stir in the gaming community, prompting Mineski CEO Ronald "Rhom" Robins to issue a statement regarding the switch.
In a statement issued on Mineski's Official Website, Robins points to the switch in roster as a unpopular but necessary step to take.

"That fire in his eyes was gone in regards to The International qualifiers" claims Robins in regards to former captain James "Wootz" Valdez. He then goes on to revealed that there had been an attempt, a meeting set between the two parties but they were unable to reach a agreement due to a "reason that was never disclosed". This prompted the organisation to appoint a different team captain who was allowed to choose his own roster, without interference from the management team.Robins then stresses the importance of professionalism in any team, comparing this to the disappointing results of Mineski PColor in the months following the International ("less than 20 wins of Dota 2 since the International 2011"). This dismal record in Dota 2 also played a part in the decision, "Why not have them focus on Dota 1 and try to win all tournaments at hand where they can bring home cash prizes and make their family happy?" says Robins.

Looking to the future, Robins sets his sights on beyond 2012's International, with emphasis on a team "who can show responsibility and dedication as the players used to have and play all online tournaments well (not late/absent)" to set a role model for other teams to up their professionalism levels.Robins ends off with a simple but succinct sentence:
"Last time I said 2011 is the year of PH Dota 1. Now I see 2012 is NOT the year for PH Dota 2. Give or take a few years and we will be there."
