With Day 3 of the Wuxi International eSports Champions Cup over our shoulders, we are inching closer to revealing the grand champions and the team who will take home 25,000 RMB ($4,000) in cash. It was a day of competition that did not go according to most expectations but nonetheless it provided us with some intense games and shocking comebacks.
The day saw four teams proceeding on to the winner's brackets semifinals with relative ease. One match-up, however, witnessed WE take down China's powerhouse iG.Z in a stunning fashion that included some excellent ganks and complete control all over the map. Zhou and co. could not find a way back into the game and forfeited after 30 minutes of play.
In the loser's brackets, an interesting Pandaren Brewmaster pick from Nirvana.cn tried to bring down iG.Z but the latter had already came back with a vengeance from their loss. The other match-up was a clash of the DT teams where Nokia's Spectre was effectively silenced by an opposing Antimage and Weaver and the Club division soon had to call out their final "GG" of the tournament.
With Nirvana.cn and DT^Club eliminated from Wuxi Cup, day 3 has officially come to a close. A set of matches have already been lined up for tomorrow. LGD will take on upsetters WE (Bet) in the Winner's Brackets Semfinals while the second match will be played between iG.Y and DK (Bet). The losers will face iG.Z and DT.Love in Round Two of the loser's brackets.
