The distinguished American Zerg and one of the best foreigners on the Korean eSports scene Greg 'Idra' Fields talks to Polarfluke about his training habits, the state of Zerg and the rest of the scene.
IdrA shares the curious fact that he was not enthusiastic about the game at first when a friend of him recommended it to him but he quickly became obsessed with SC2 as he kept playing. He also says that he had no trouble transitioning to the new game as he feels it easier than BroodWar. He also explains how he thinks players reach that high level of skill.
When addressed with questions about other foreign newcomers to Korea, Greg gives a sound advice which is one should be willing to put everything in the game, imitate the Korean training lifestyle and not get frustrated when one finds it hard to succeed. He also comments on the rivalry between him and Jinro.
Idra also talks more in-detail about the state of Zerg, mentioning weaknesses in Zerglings, Hive tech and aspects of other races such as the phoenix expand builds. He further comments about race switching and his reluctancy to do so due to the necessary to reach high skill level with it.
