Analysing the long awaited battle between DDT and Nirvana.int

The battle between the two giants was finally observable in Farm4Fame finals, and both teams did not fail to produce another set of mindblasting matches.

Both teams filled up all three matches to decide which to be crowned as F4F champion.

Both teams started the game defensively by employing the 2-1-2 format. The side lanes consisted of both supports and carries to maximise farming and safety for all the lanes. At about two minutes, however, Crystal Maiden started to roam, leaving Lightning Revenant to solo at top. This decision proved successful when Nirvana.Int's Crystal Maiden helped bottom lane to kill DDT's both heroes, giving a head start to Nirvana.Int.

Shortly after, the laning started to change a lot due to numerous attempts for ganks. DDT's Night Stalker roamed around the map for kills since the night time at 6 minutes, while Vengeful Spirit and Crystal Maiden from Nirvana.Int constantly played as gankers and supporters. The scores at 16 minutes (end of night time) were 10-18 in favour of Nirvana.Int and showed that Nirvana.Int's ganking activities were more powerful. It is also noticeable from both teams' carries movements that DDT was influenced much more from Nirvana.Int's ganks. For example, at about 13 minutes, soloing Shadow Fiend at middle died twice in a row, forcing himself to farm at bottom lane with help from Witch Doctor. In contrast to DDT's carries, Nirvana.Int's carries (Lightning Revenant, Templar Assassin and Storm Spirit) generally remained firm in their lanes with occasional help from their supports who tried to counter the incoming ganks.

At 20 minutes, the creep scores for both teams' carries were as shown below.

Creep Scores

Night Stalker LiveAndLetLoda: 61/4
Shadow Fiend fnatic.MiSeRy-: 82/22

Scourge
Storm Spirit Nv.Fear: 66/12
Lightning Revenant ecdl-bot: 93/16
Templar Assassin NV.KuroKy: 72/16

This shows that Nirvana.Int was overall superior in farming experience and gold, not to mention that Nirvana.Int had 10 more kills than DDT at the same time; the score was 13-23.

At 24 minutes, a clash between the two teams at middle lane showed that Nirvana.Int was much better as they killed four of DDT's players while only losing one. Shortly after, Templar Assassin obtained Aegis and went for another war after DDT's heroes respawned. This time, Nirvana.Int killed four and lost none. Hence, Nirvana.Int was further empowered from the gold and experience earned. At 30 minutes, Nirvana.Int's Templar Assassin had Stygian Desolator and Kelen's Dagger, Storm Spirit had Linken's Sphere and Mystic Staff (which he completed to Guinsoo's Scythe of Vise at 31 minute), Lightning Revenant had Hood of Defiance and Manta Style. On the other hand, the only items noteworthy of DDT were Shadow Fiend's Ultimate Orb, Sand King's Kelen's Dagger and Night Stalker's Aghanim's Scepter.

Finally, at 38 minutes, Nirvana.Int broke through DDT's base at middle lane with even better items and ended the game.

Nirvana.Int started the game similarly to game one by having Tidehunter as a roamer mainly between the top lane and middle lane. On the other hand, DDT stayed firm to their previous 2-1-2 format throughout the early game. Thanks to Tidehunter's roaming, Nirvana.Int was able to lead the game with a First Blood from Viper at about 3 minutes. Tidehunter and Priestess of the Moon was again able to kill Viper at 6 minutes. Although Tidehunter's roaming seemed to be beneficial to Nirvana.Int, the downfall of this tactic was that Windrunner at top lane, who was facing Storm Spirit and Keeper of the Light, wasn't able to farm well. However, Tidehunter was still not able to help top lane because bottom lane was in more trouble; Slithereen Guard and Lion at bottom lane dominated Shadow Fiend and Earthshaker and gained 3 kills. This led Keeper of the Light to leave Storm Spirit solo top and went bottom lane to help DDT face Nirvana.Int's temporary tri-lane.

At 10 minutes, the scores was 3-4 in favour of DDT and the creep scores were the following:

Priestess of the Moon NV.KuroKy: 47/9
Shadow Fiend Nv.Fear: 36/11
Windrunner Nv.Merlini: 29/10
Scourge
Slithereen Guard mym|miggel: 29/6
Storm Spirit fnatic.MiSeRy-: 41/18
Netherdrake LiveAndLetLoda: 22/5

As shown above, Windrunner was far behind Storm Spirit in creep scores as she had no supporter. On the other hand, because Tidehunter helped to kill DDT's Netherdrake 2 times, Priestess of the Moon had much better creep scores than Netherdrake. At bottom lane, although Shadow Fiend was killed 2 times, he had slightly better creep scores than Slithereen Guard. Overall, Nirvana.Int started the game slightly better than DDT.

The game continued with main focus on farming, while supporters along with Priestess of the Moon attempted to help in ganking the farmers. At 17 minutes, there was a full team clash at bottom lane which resulted in 2 deaths from DDT and 1 from Nirvana.Int. Many of the ganking attemps were successful and the scores at 25 minutes were 11-13 in favour of DDT.

As late game emerged at about 30 minutes, both team started to make more actions which resulted from trying to push/defend the lanes. The noticeable items for DDT were Netherdrake's Vanguard, Boots of Travel, Hood of Defiance, Slardar's Vanguard, Storm Spirit's Linken's Sphere and Lion's Kelen's Dagger. For Nirvana.Int, there were Windrunner's Blademail, Priestess of the Moon's Diffusal Blade, Yasha, Shadow Fiend's Kelen's Dagger and Black King BarThis eventually led to a full scale battle which resulted in DDT's complete win as they team-killed Nirvana.Int and didn't lose any. Clearly, DDT was taking a lead in the late game and the scores difference was huge: 11-24.

Eventually, DDT made an initiative break through the top lane and Nirvana.Int had to call a "gg" after another absolute lost in a war.

The laning formation for game three was much different from the previous. Instead of having solos at middle lane, Broodmother and Pugna faced each other at top. For both teams, middle lane consisted of a carry and a supporter. At bottom lane, Nirvana.Int had Faerie Dragon to solo, while for DDT, there were Storm Spirit as a carry and Tidehunter as a support. As usual, Nirvana.Int's Enigma jungled in the Sentinel's camps.

The first blood occured rather late. Without any help from other heroes, Nirvana.Int's Oblivion won against Broodmother, granting Nirvana.Int to lead again.

By 10 minutes, it was clear that Nirvana.Int's lanes were stronger than DDT's. Although no hero went to another lane for ganks, the scores at 10 minutes were 1-5. The creep scores were the following:

Creep Scores
Europe DDTOther Nirvana.Int
Sentinel
Storm Spirit fnatic.MiSeRy-: 40/10
Shadow Fiend MYM|AngeL: 32/9
Broodmother LiveAndLetLoda: 44/13

Oblivion NV.KuroKy: 39/5
Phantom Lancer Nv.Fear: 35/6
Faerie Dragon Nv.Merlini: 28/3

As shown above, however, DDT started the game with better creepscores. This means their loss in deaths could have been compensated, at least by little, by the superior golds and experiences gained by killing creeps.

Only a little while later, DDT started to catch up with the kills. In fact, they surpassed Nirvana.Int's kill with 10-7 at about 15 minutes. This resulted from Tidehunter and Demon Witch more frequently roaming from lanes to lanes, helping the team to pick up kills.

As the game went on, it was clear that Broodmother had lane dominance over Oblivion. Oblivion had to either go back to base if he survives or die from Broodmother's constant harass often supported by Tidehunter. Moreover, Broodmother severly pushed the top lane, pressuring the opponents. As Nirvana.Int tried to deal with the situation at top lane, other lanes were left empty and vulnerable by pushes. For example, at about 19 minutes, when 4 heroes moved to top lane, Storm Spirit pushed the bottom lane. Also, other DDT carries were allowed to enjoy their free farms.

Due to DDT's constant pressure on all the lanes and successful kills, Nirvana.Int had to struggle. Nirvana.Int could only defend their lanes and not progress further as there was no time to stay within a lane. Also, Nirvana.Int had to stay close to their towers to stay away from any more possible ganks.

Eventually, DDT's respective blows on middle lane and top lane with much better farmed carries had to call the game. As a result, DDT was crowned as the champion of champions.
