MPL Malaysia renamed to MPL M6laysia for Season 14

With the aim to win the M6 World Championship, MPL Malaysia will be renamed MPL M6laysia for the duration of Season 14.

The Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League (MPL) Malaysia will be rebranding to MPL M6laysia for the duration of its 14th season with one goal: winning the M6 World Championship in November.

This year's edition of the annual MLBB world championship tournament will be returning to the Axiata Arena in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, which played host to the inaugural event of the M-series back in 2019.

Fikri Rizal Mahruddin, Marketing and Business Development Lead at MLBB publisher MOONTON Games, said:

"Last month, Selangor Red Giants clinched an historic first-ever international championship for Malaysia at the MLBB Mid Season Cup (MSC) at the Esports World Cup. In almost five years, Malaysia had never reached such heights on the international stage. But despite this massive achievement, the biggest accolade in MLBB history still eludes us – an M Series championship title. All eyes are now on us as the host of the M6 World Championship, where we have two slots on the Main Stage."

He also added:

“Season 14 represents the teams' opportunity to qualify for the biggest MLBB competitive stage in front of our home fans. The last time teams had this chance was a whole five years ago, during the M1 World Championship! As such, the league will be named 'MPL M6laysia' this season – a constant reminder of the high stakes involved and our ambition to bring glory to Malaysia.”

MOONTON, with the support of the Ministry of Youth and Sports (KBS) and Esports Integrated (ESI), announced the return of Malaysia's best and most popular league for Season 14, with Selangor Red Giants as the defending champion. MOONTON Games also announced the sponsors list for MPL M6laysia Season 14. Hotlink, Malaysia's leading integrated telecommunications provider, returns as the Malaysia Presenter to fully optimise the league's network to deliver the best gaming experience for MLBB.

Kumpulan Prasarana Rakyat Johor Sdn Bhd (KPRJ) will power MPL M6laysia Season 14, including bringing the Season 14 Playoffs to Johor. Named the "The Southern Festival, " the MPL M6laysia Season 14 Playoffs will mark the first time the league ventures outside of Klang Valley and will feature a super-sized programme combining esports with lifestyle, music, and entertainment.

Additionally, JD Sports has entered the Land of Dawn this season, offering fans exclusive giveaways of gift cards and MLBB Diamonds (the game's premium in-game currency), JD Sports’ products, and shopping rebates on JD Sports as part of the "UP YOUR GAME" campaign.

ASUS Republic of Gamers (ROG) will provide the official tournament phone – the King of Performance, the ROG Phone 8, now with a sleek new design and improved cameras.

This season also brings strategic partners: Head & Shoulders, TNTCO, and the Subang Jaya City Council (Majlis Bandaraya Subang Jaya, MBSJ).

Season 14 will see the debut of Team Vamos, a new team founded by ex-MPL Malaysia professional athlete and Malaysia's most-watched content creator, Mohd Faris "Soloz" bin Zakaria. Team Vamos announced a mouth-watering line-up containing six HomeBois alumni: Mohamad Zul Hisham “Xorn” Bin Mohd Noor, Muhammad Nazhan “Chibii” Bin Mohd Nor, Muhammad Irfan “Sepat” Bin Aujang, Kenneth “Nets” Barro, Rizky “Warlord” Agustian, and coach Khairul "Pabz" Sharif.

Once relegated, RED Esports returned to MPL Malaysia for Season 14. After finishing 10th in Season 12, they were relegated but are back in Malaysia's top MLBB league after topping the MLBB Academy League Malaysia (MAL MY) Season 1 Challengers Conference.

They've strengthened in the off-season, including bringing in two formidable players: Stephen “Sensui” Castillo and Lee Howard “Owl” Gonzales from Blacklist International. Expectations were high for both to elevate The RED Esports' game and prove they're here to challenge for honours.

Finally, Barracuda Esports returns as Team Rey, following a rebrand in the off-season. After a disappointing 9th-place finish in MPL Malaysia Season 13, the oceanic predators executed a 3-2 reverse sweep of DXORIGINZ in the "Challenger vs Defender" match to keep their slot in MPL Malaysia. DXORIGINZ finished second in the MAL MY Challenger Conference, conferring them the right to challenge Barracuda Esports for their spot.

The MPL M6laysia Season 14 Regular Season will feature 10 of the nation's top MLBB teams who will compete every week from September 7 to October 13. Played at the MPL MY Arena at Stadium MBSJ Serdang Jaya, the Regular Season will follow a single round-robin format, with each match to be a Best-Of-Three (BO3). MPL M6laysia Season 14 will carry a $100,000 prize pool (~MYR 437,000).

The top six teams from the Regular Season will advance to the Playoffs, which will be held from October 31 to November 3. All the matches during the Playoffs will follow a Best-Of-Five (BO5) format, except for the BO7 Grand Finals on November 3.
