Today we saw the opening of the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Women’s Invitational 2024, as two of the four groups began their journey as they attempted to become the champion of the Esports World Cup in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Six of the twelve teams went into the day, but only five came out the other side after, with one elimination and one group into tiebreakers on Day 2.

Group D at the MWI 2024 saw the reigning champions, Team Vitality, having to do battle with both Gaimin Gladiators HomeGirls and Tidal Legends Gaming. The team were able to take a convincing victory over the Chinese hopefuls, but when they came face to face with GG, something went slightly wrong, as they only managed to secure a 1-1 draw. While this still meant that the team ended at the top of their group, teams surely realised that they could be taken down. For GG, they also ended up drawing with TLG, but due to the head-to-head, they would go through into the next round, while TLG sadly was not able to make the cut.

In Group A, things were very different, with the final results not decided just yet, as two teams remained in limbo after Day 1. CFU Serendipity and Cloud9 Female were both stuck on equal points, while Falcons Vega cruised through at the top of the standings. For the remaining two teams, Day 2 will be when they figure out who will be going through to the playoffs and who will be going home as they compete in a tiebreaker to decide.

On Day 2 we will see both Group B and Group C go to battle in the Land of Dawn, as well as the tiebreakers, as the women continue their journey to become the champions of MWI 2024.
