On October 21, 2023, the Mobile Legends Professional League Fall 2023 season for the Middle Easst and North Africa came to an end, with the top two teams both technically heading to M5. For the victors, not only would they get the spoils of MPL MENA, but they would secure a spot in the group stages of M5 – while the runner-up will need to fight through what is setting up to be a gruelling Wildcard Tournament.

With the defending champions, Team Occupy, disqualified from the tournament shortly after the Regular Season culminated, this year it was known that a new challenger would be lifting the MPL MENA trophy. The grand finals eventually came down to Triple Esports and Team Falcons – the latter having only made it through to the playoffs thanks to the previously mentioned problems with Occupy.

While Falcons secured the upper bracket final with relative ease against the same opponent, the grand finals seemed to bring out another side of Triple. After going down in the first game, the Saudi Arabian roster found their stride, only faltering once more through their eventual 4-2 victory.

The victory sees Triple Esports securing a grand prize of $29,000, while also punching their ticket to the Philippines for the M5 World Championship later this year. All hope is not lost for Team Falcons, as they will take a spot at the M5 Wildcard Tournament, where two of the eight participating teams will join in at the main event for M5. While MENA is still a growing region, it is fantastic to see new talent managing to come out on top and we look forward to seeing them perform at the M5 World Championship.
