Week 5 of the Mobile Legends Professional League Season 12 in Indonesia brings with it a huge chance for redemption for Alter Ego Esports.
Another week of epic Mobile Legends: Bang Bang action is on the way from MPL ID Season 12, with the teams looking to go into a two-week break on the front foot. However, the main team we are focusing on this week will be Alter Ego Esports, who have finally found their stride after a fantastic Week 4. Week 5 will see AE playing every day, with four series – including three which could be extremely tough for the team, so let’s dive in.
Thursday, August 17
Dewa United Esports versus AURA FIRE
Alter Ego Esports versus Rebellion Zion
The first test for AE comes in the form of Rebellion Zion, a team who can bring the fight when they need to. This is a rematch of a Week 1 series, which saw RBL claim a fantastic 2-1 victory, and send AE into their first of five losses in a row. However, with the new patch coming into play, AE now seems to be in form again, with all five players looking dangerous together in the Land of Dawn. A win on Day 1 would vault the team out of the danger zone.
Friday, August 18
Geek Fam ID versus Bigetron Alpha
Alter Ego Esports versus Rex Regum Qeon
Last week we saw AE take down RRQ, which was a big deal for everyone watching – but the players did not feel the same way. In their post-match interview, the players shrugged it off as, “easy, nothing big”, while calling on XINNN to play again. Week 5 means that they will need to match their words, as RRQ will be awaiting them once again.
Saturday, August 19
ONIC Esports versus Geek Fam ID
Bigetron Alpha versus Alter Ego Esports
Rex Regum Qeon versus AURA FIRE
Another opening week loss will be the AE rematch for Saturday, as they take on The Robots, hoping to turn it around. For Bigetron Alpha, they have had quite an up-and-down Regular Season so far, with some unprecedented losses, and with AE’s newfound form, this is going to be a tough series on both sides.
Sunday, August 20
Rebellion Zion versus Dewa United Esports
Alter Ego Esports versus ONIC Esports
It certainly does not calm down for the team by Sunday, as their most difficult challenge awaits in the form of the nearly unstoppable ONIC Esports. While a two-week break is on the cards for the teams following this, AE will need to keep their willpower at its peak if they want to take down the reigning champions. With ONIC already looking set to expand this season with Kaja picks, they’ll have more to worry about than just the King of the Jungle, Kairi, coming at them.
Although there will be other battles being fought, AE is definitely the team to watch this week. And with a two-week break coming right after, Week 6 is a long road away for the teams, while EVOS Legends gets an extra week off. It will be interesting to see if AE can hold their own and leapfrog out from the bottom three over Week 5 because if they do not, they will not have many more chances to do so after the break.
