MPL Indonesia Season 12 is almost upon us, with many of the teams seeing some interesting changes during the off-season.
As we are about to step into the twelfth season of the Mobile Legends Professional League in Indonesia, many of the teams have seen players moving around, as well as new players coming into their roster. With that in mind, we take a closer look at each team and where they stand from their off-season changes with our tier rankings, and what it could mean for them in MPL ID Season 12.
RRQ – A tier
While Season 11 may not have been great for RRQ, the team made some of the biggest roster changes during the off-season, with three additions which we have to focus on.
- XINNN’s return
Although going inactive for a short time, XINNN brings in a strong Gold Lane addition to RRQ, but may not get a chance over Skylar for some time.
- Naomi’s influence
Bringing in a player from the strong Falcon Esports of Myanmar could bolster the RRQ roster to no end, but there are rumours of the playing having possible issues playing in the region.
- Ferxiic’s swap
Ferxiic was once one of the most feared Jungler players in Indonesia when he was a part of the EVOS Legends roster. With constant swaps between Icon and Legends, Ferxiic now gets to try his hand in the MPL properly once again, with Albert having departed from RRQ.
Alter Ego – B tier
AE’s Season 11 was a great comeback for the team to the podium, but they are hoping to challenge for the title again in Season 12 with their additions.
- R E K T joins
We have not seen much from R E K T for some time within the MPL, with Season 9 being the last time he played for EVOS. He may finally get some game time this season, but Rasy’s performance has not been questioned just yet.
- Variety moves up
Although Variety has been seen on the AE X squad previously, he gets a chance to join the main team in Season 12. But, with Celiboy having a solid Jungler spot, we may not see Variety get a chance to shine.
AURA Fire – C tier
AURA lost some of their biggest players during the off-season, while their gains were mainly from their Blaze roster.
- Kimura and Syndrome Fire up
Having lost Fluffy and god1va, AURA had to move fast to ensure that they had a full roster for Season 12 – which involved bringing up two players from their Blaze roster, which may not give them an edge.
EVOS Legends – A tier
The White Tigers had an amazing Season 11 and have bolstered their roster with a few new faces going into Season 12.
- Fluffy comes in
Fluffy is one of the biggest additions for EVOS, swapping in from AURA Fire to take on the EXP Lane role.
- Icon’s changes
Legends bring in a total of three players and one Assistant Coach through from their Icons roster, all of whom may never get a chance on the MPL stage in Season 12 – although Caleb as the Assistant Coach could be a great addition next to Age, the Head Coach.
Onic Esports – S tier
Having won the recent MSC 2023, ONIC needed no changes to their roster, but decided to bring in a new player anyway.
- Alberttt leaves RRQ
Alberttt joining ONIC is one of the biggest moves which we have seen in MPL ID this season, as the veteran Jungle moves on from RRQ. But, with Kairi still considered the King of the Jungle, Alberttt may not be seen for some time.
Geek Fam ID – C tier
The off-season saw a few players leaving GF, while they also went ahead and dropped their Slate Esports partnership too. One of the biggest aspects we are watching, is Hadess moving back to the Philippines, on loan to Blacklisst International.
- Markyyyy jumps aboard
Although they lost one PH player, Markyyyy joins to keep the team with two imports, with Balyoskie being the other. It has been some time since we have seen him in his ONIC PH colours, but GF could be where he shines once more.
Bigetron Alpha – B tier
The Robots have not really been at the top of their game for some time, and their singular new addition to the roster looks to completely change that.
- VYN’s return
With VYN rejoining BTR after his long stint with RRQ, the team may have a shot at reaching the top, especially as he moves into the middle lane role for the team in Season 12.
Rebellion Zion – D tier
While Season 10 proved to be something special for RBG, Season 11 was another poor showing, which does not bode well for the team as Season 12 approaches. The team’s main addition comes from their Sinai roster, while they also hope that a completely new face could bring them hope.
Dewa United Esports – D tier
For DUE, we do not have a lot of information to go on when it comes to the MPL, since this will be their first season involved. On paper the team do bring some strong challenges to the table, but whether they can match the strength of MPL ID remains to be seen.
- Watt returns
After an absence from the MPL for four seasons, Watt returns alongside DUE, hoping to bring in some of his experience to the team.
- Pendragon’s influence
While playing for EVOS in both their MDL and MPL teams, Pendragon might have picked up some great strategies, which he will now bring into a new roster.
MPL ID Season 12 begins on July 13, 2023, with the now 9 teams all set for their battles in Week 1. Another change coming into the tournament will see it showcasing a 4-day play week, beginning now on Thursdays and running through to Sundays, as they cater for the extra team. With the region now making its way back above the PH as the best in MLBB, Season 12 is set to be absolutely invigorating.
