Linkin Park, Ashnikko, Tiffany Aris, Mars Atlas of Forts to headline Worlds 2024 Opening Ceremony

The Opening Ceremony will be a star-studded affair fit for an epic Grand Finals match.

The League of Legends World Championship (Worlds) 2024 is gearing up for an exciting Grand Final, set to unfold with a star-studded opening ceremony at London’s O2 Arena on 2 November.

Riot Games, the developer of League of Legends, unveiled the lineup on 29 October, confirming performances from iconic nu-metal band Linkin Park, Ashnikko, Mars Atlas of Forts, and Tiffany Aris.

Worlds 2024 kicks off at 7:00 AM PST (10:00 PM Singapore Time), setting the stage for an epic showdown as defending champions T1 face off against LPL powerhouse Bilibili Gaming (BLG) in the Finals.

Linkin Park to Perform “Heavy Is The Crown”

Popular rock band Linkin Park will headline the event and deliver a live debut of “Heavy Is The Crown,” the 2024 Worlds anthem.

Since its release on 24 September, the track has broken records, becoming the most-streamed Worlds anthem, with over 270 million audio streams and 57 million views on YouTube.

Known for their emotionally charged lyrics and intense soundscapes, Linkin Park’s performance is anticipated to captivate long-time fans and new listeners.

The anthem celebrates T1’s historic triumph at Worlds 2023, their first Worlds victory since 2016. Inspired by London’s deep-rooted legacy of resilience, “Heavy Is The Crown” narrates a symbolic journey of a newly crowned king facing waves of rivals.

LoL G.O.A.T. Lee “Faker” Sanghyeok and T1 took the spotlight in the music video, as a king and his men defending his throne from challengers laying siege to his kingdom. Other notable players from the other teams include Chen “Bin” Ze-Bin of BLG, Jeong “Chovy” Ji-hoon of Gen.G, Rasmus “Caps” Borregaard  Winther of G2, and Fahad "Massu" Abdulmalek of FlyQuest.

After their Worlds appearance, Linkin Park will continue their “From Zero” World Tour. Their next album is slated for release on 15 November.

Ashnikko Brings “Paint The Town Blue” for Arcane Season 2

Ashnikko, known for her genre-bending music and high-energy performances, will bring Arcane’s Jinx to life on stage with “Paint The Town Blue,” the lead single from Arcane season two’s soundtrack.

Released on 5 September, the song gained momentum quickly, with the Arcane trailer garnering over 40 million views on YouTube.

Her live performance at Worlds will give fans an early look into the show’s second season, set to premiere on Netflix on 9 November.

Mars Atlas of Forts and Tiffany Aris to bring back “Still Here”

Mars Atlas and Tiffany Aris will also be performing “Still Here,” a powerful track that resonated with the League community since its debut in the 2024 cinematic.

The cinematic, exploring the arcs of champions like Kayle, Morgana, Aatrox, Yasuo, Ashe, Tryndamere, and Kindred, became the most-viewed video on the League of Legends YouTube channel within 24 hours, reaching over 124 million views.

As fans worldwide gear up for the final clash, the stakes couldn’t be higher. Faker and T1 could secure their fifth Summoner’s Cup. On the other side, Bin, Zhuo “knight” Ding, and the rest of BLG are on the hunt for their first, making this match a battle of legacy versus ascension.

With world-class performances and the game’s most iconic teams going head-to-head, the Worlds 2024 Finals promises to be a monumental event for fans, esports, and League of Legends history.
