League of Legends: All the teams that qualified for Worlds 2024

These are the teams that will be fighting for this year's League of Legends world championship title.

The 2024 League of Legends (LoL) World Championship is fast approaching, and with it comes the excitement of seeing the best teams from around the globe compete on the grandest stage of LoL Esports. 

As the countdown begins, many regions have already locked in their representatives for this year’s championship.

The journey to Worlds 2024 varies significantly across regions, with each team battling for one of the 20 coveted slots through different qualification methods. 

Here’s a comprehensive look at all the teams that have qualified so far, how they secured their spots, and what the remaining teams must do to earn their place.

Teams Qualified for LoL Worlds 2024

So far, 17 teams have punched their tickets to Worlds 2024 with only three slots left:

Qualification for Worlds 2024

The 2024 League of Legends World Championship features a unique qualification process. The League of Legends Champions Korea (LCK) and League of Legends Pro League (LPL) will each have three teams directly qualified for the Swiss stage. Meanwhile, the League of Legends EMEA Championship (LEC) and League Championship Series (LCS) will have two directly qualified teams each.

As the 2024 Mid-Season Invitational winner, Gen.G automatically secured a spot in the Swiss stage, earning the LCK an additional seed. The LPL, as the runner-up region, has also been granted an extra spot. Four more teams will advance from the play-in to the Swiss stage.

The Final Year of the PCS and VCS, LCS CBLOL and LLA as Independent Regions

This year’s World Championship marks the last time that teams from the PCS and VCS will qualify separately. In 2025, these leagues, along with the LJL and LCO, will merge into a new Asia-Pacific league. Furthermore, the LCS, CBLOL, and LLA will merge to create an Americas league, featuring distinct North and South conferences.

How Teams Qualified: A Breakdown by Region and Stage

LCK (South Korea)

  • Hanwha Life Esports - first seed, after becoming LCK Summer 2024 Champions.
  • Gen.G: Second seed, as the LCK Summer 2024 runner-up. The first to qualify, Gen.G secured their spot by winning the Mid-Season Invitational (MSI) on 19 May, guaranteeing their Worlds berth.
  • DPlus KIA - LCK Summer 2024 Regional Finals Round 1 Winner: 
  • T1 - LCK Summer 2024 Regional Finals Round 2 Winner

LPL (China)

  • Bilibili Gaming: Secured their place on 30 August by winning the LPL Summer Finals.
  • Top Esports: Qualified based on Championship Points.
  • LNG Esports: Claimed their spot on 31 August by winning the LPL Regional Finals.
  • Weibo Gaming: Locked in their Worlds spot on 2 September by finishing as runners-up in the LPL Regional Finals.

LEC (EMEA)

  • G2 Esports: Qualified on 28 July by winning the 2024 LEC Summer Playoffs, dominating Fnatic with a 3-0 sweep. G2 also won the LEC Finals 2024.
  • Fnatic: Secured their Worlds berth on 1 September as runners-up in the LEC Season Finals.
  • MAD Lions KOI: Qualified on 31 August by finishing third in the LEC Season Finals. 

LCS (North America)

The 2024 LCS Summer Playoffs are still ongoing, but the top three teams (or the teams that have qualified for Worlds) have been confirmed. Their seeding is yet to be determined on 7-8 September. 

  • FlyQuest: Qualified as LCS first seed on 8 September after winning the 2024 LCS Summer Championship title.
  • Team Liquid:Qualified as LCS second seed on 8 September as the LCS Summer Playoffs runner-up, losing against FlyQuest 3-1.
  • 100 Thieves: Secured the final LCS spot after a dominant win against Cloud9. Is the LCS third seed after losing against FlyQuest 3-0 on 7 September.

PCS (Asia Pacific)

The APAC region now includes the PCS (Southeast Asia), LJL (Japan), and LCO (Oceania), making this year particularly challenging. There was a real possibility that a Japanese team might miss out on Worlds for the first time, but SoftBank Hawks, led by EVI, secured their spot.

  • PSG Talon: Qualified on 1 September by winning the PCS Summer Playoffs.
  • SoftBank Hawks: Earned their spot on 1 September by finishing as runners-up in the PCS Summer Playoffs.

VCS (Vietnam)

  • GAM Esports: Qualified on 18 August 4 by winning the VCS Summer Finals.
  • Vikings Esports: Secured their place on 18 August as runners-up in the VCS Summer Finals.

LLA (Latin America)

  • Movistar R7: Qualified on 28 August by winning the LLA Closing Finals.

CBLOL (Brazil) 

  • paiN Gaming - Qualified on 7 September by winning the CBLOL Finals.
