What are we watching this week - LEC, LCS, and LPL games before Lunar New Year holidays

Enjoy this final week of games before an extended break for most of the major regions.

All four of the major regions in League of Legends are well into its respective splits and this week will be its final round of matches before an extended break for most of the leagues. This includes the likes of the LPL, LCS, and LCK who will be taking a mid-season break that also coincided with the upcoming Lunar New Year celebrations.

The LCK is already on its break with the first three weeks already done and dusted as Gen.G Esports will go into the one-week break as the current league leaders. As for the LPL, it will play just three days' worth of games before going on a one-and-a-half week break. As both regions celebrate the Lunar New Year, it's no surprise why a mid-season break is expected.

Even the LCS will be on a break after this weekend's games, which will be the fourth week to mark a month's worth of matches in North America so far. The LCS will only be back in action in the first weekend of March as it will be on the longest break at two-and-a-half weeks.

However, the LEC will still be having its Winter Split playoffs throughout the rest of February to determine who will walk away as the first regional champions of the season. The EU region is the only one to play through the break, which will at least mean that there is still something to watch each weekend.

LEC Winter Split Playoffs - Upper Bracket Semifinals

Later today will be the upper bracket semifinals of the LEC Winter Split playoffs that will determine who moves one step closer to lifting the title. There are only two matches for the UB semifinals with the first being between Fnatic and G2 Esports and the second to feature Team BDS and Team Vitality.

The winners will go on to face one another in the UB finals to book a spot in the grand finals whilst the losers will drop to the lower bracket quarter-finals. There, they will await the victors of the first round of the lower bracket that feature the likes of MAD Lions KOI, GIANTX, SK Gaming, and Team Heretics.

LPL Spring Split - Week 3 Games

There will only be six games to be played in the LPL this week, none of which will be livestreamed as it only begins every Thursday through Sunday. However, there are some notable games to be played over the next three days. This includes a Bilibili Gaming versus LNG Esports match-up tomorrow as well as Weibo Gaming versus Top Esports.

Aside from that, there are also two matches to look forward to that involves three former world champions and a three-time MSI champion. While all four orgs are currently in the process of a rebuild, the match-ups of EDward Gaming versus FunPlus Phoenix and Invictus Gaming versus Royal Never Give Up will surely bring viewers back to the prime years of the LPL.

LCS Spring Split - Week 4 Games

After a banger Super Week that saw only FlyQuest win all three of its matches, they take a commanding 6-1 lead in the LCS Spring Split with the fourth and final week of games before the break commences. FQ will have a chance to put one foot into the playoffs if they are able to defeat Shopify Rebellion and Immortals this weekend.

There is also a three-way tie for second with the likes of NRG, Team Liquid, and 100 Thieves all share a 4-3 score line. But the biggest shock of the weekend was Cloud9, who lost all three Super Week matches, which has not happened since 2018. The six-time LCS champions will have a chance to pull things back this weekend with key games against NRG and 100T.
