Bilibili Gaming Roster Update

Bilibili Gaming sign two LPL champions to its roster

Bilibili Gaming snap up the LPL MVP of the year alongside the return of a seasoned support veteran.

Bilibili Gaming have had a heck of a glow up this season with solid performances all-year round and they are looking to build on that with two new recruits — the LPL MVP of the year, Zhuo “Knight” Ding as well as the return of Zuo “LvMao” Minghao. And in adding knight into the fold, Ceng “YaGao” Qi has moved over to JD Gaming.

BLG had been one of the LPL's top-two teams this season with the other being JDG. For the most part, this year was BLG's most successful to date and they are still yet to lift a trophy, whether it be regional or international. The team used to finish in the bottom half of the regional league, but this year was a dynamic shift that saw BLG come in second in both the Spring Split and the Mid-Season Invitational.

And on both occasions, BLG was stopped in its tracks by JDG, who had been the LPL's most consistent team this year. BLG even finished third during the LPL Summer Split as well as a shared third/fourth-place finish at Worlds 2023. Despite not lifting any silverware this season, this was BLG's best season after years of mediocrity.

The inclusion of knight into the line-up will no doubt increase the team's chances of actually lifting a trophy next season. After many years of being seen as one of the most promising LPL midlaners to rise through the ranks with Top Esports, it was his move to JDG that solidified his stance as arguably the best midlaner in China. In just one season with JDG, knight was able to lift his first international trophy at MSI as well as being the undisputed champion of the LPL.

He will be looking to recreate those heights with BLG, who came desperately close on multiple occasions. The return of LvMao will no doubt be a great addition to BLG after a short two-month stint in the middle of the season earlier this year. He also found moderate success with JDG, albeit at a different time than knight.
