Possibly one of the better rosters on paper for the upcoming LCS 2024 season.
After another underwhelming season despite a strong start, FlyQuest have decided to revamp its entire starting line-up for next year. And they did it in the best way possible by signing three LEC and LCS veterans in the form of jungler Kacper “Inspired” Sloma, toplaner, Gabriël “Bwipo” Rau, and midlaner Nicolaj “Jensen” Jensen.
To round up the new roster, FlyQuest also decided to promote one of its Challenger players, Fahad “Massu” Abdulmalek in the AD carry role while also bringing in former 100 Thieves support player, Alan “Busio” Cwalina. The new bottom lane duo will be looking to make some waves in the LCS next season but it's the experienced trio that many will have their eyes on.
Jensen is one such player that will command a level of respect given just how long he's been in the scene. The former Cloud9 and Team Liquid midlaner has been around since 2015 and have already cemented himself as one of the best in the LCS. However, he will be looking to get his career back on track after a disastrous season with Dignitas.
As for Inspired, he left Evil Geniuses shortly after this year's Spring Split and will be looking to revive his career after winning his first LCS title last season. Bwipo is the only latest addition who is making the switch back to a pro player after spending the year as a full-time streamer. He was most known for his time on Fnatic from 2018 to 2021, who were one of the top teams in the LEC at that time.
FlyQuest had a decent start to the 2023 season that featured a third-place finish during the Spring Split, its best placement since 2020. However, the team soon started to crumble as they fell to as low as ninth during the Summer Split group stage, which was nowhere near enough to get them to the knockout bracket.
This roster shuffle will bring a much-needed reset to the organisation, who decided to go down the European route instead of its East-Asian line-ups from this season. It will be interesting to see how FlyQuest fare next year as it does have a healthy balance of experience and raw talent on its hands.
