SANDBOX Gaming will be hoping for a better season next year with this new line-up.
The LCK are well underway into the off-season transfers as SANDBOX Gaming became the fifth team to finalise its roster. Lee “Clozer” Ju-hyeon's contract had recently run out but he soon resigned with SANDBOX for the 2024 season. He will be joined by AD carry Park “Hena” Jeung-hwan as well as the 2022 LEC Summer Rookie of the Split award winner, Jeong-hoon “JeongHoon” Lee.
They will join the likes of Hyeon-min “Clear” Song as well as Jeong-hyeon “Willer” Kim after what was a rather disappointing season after the progress SANDBOX made last season. This year, they finished in sixth and seventh respectively during the LCK Spring and Summer Splits. After last season's third-place finish during the summer campaign, many thought SANDBOX could finally challenge for a top spot this year.
Unfortunately, that has not been the case and since then, only Clozer remains as the sole player who has been with SANDBOX since the 2022 season. Having just resigned with SANDBOX after a two-year deal, it looks like the org is finally building around its star mid-laner with only Willer being the other returning player in the team.
Top-laner Clear joined earlier in the year and will be making his debut season for the LCK Spring Split in a bid to help SANDBOX qualify for the Mid-Season Invitational. As for JeongHoon, he will also be looking to make his debut after spending a year in the LEC where he also won the Rookie of the Split award during the 2022 Summer Split.
South Korea will be looking to dominate the international standings once again after an LCK team lifted the Summoner's Cup just a few weeks ago.
