Clid has reportedly been benched for Hanwha Life Esports' match against Dplus KIA today.
Hanwha Life Esports' jungler, Kim "Clid" Tae-min is reportedly benched for today's match-up against Dplus KIA in the LCK Summer Split 2023. This comes after allegations of sexual harassment was brought forth by two different fans that surfaced yesterday, 27 June.
And according to Korizon Esports, taking over Clid will be Jo “Grizzly” Seung-hoon, the jungler from the HLE Challengers squad. This will also be Grizzly's professional debut, which will be against the Worlds 2020 champions of Dplus KIA.
While the LCK, HLE, and Clid himself have yet to issue a public statement on the matter, his benching could very well be down to the multiple sexual harassment allegations. However, his agency Shadow Corporation has issued a statement regarding the situation.
It remains to be seen if any action will be taken towards Clid, who was accused of sexual harassing two fans. According to one of the victims, @seoyeon67206575, she was first approached by Clid through Instagram after he liked one of her story posts. They would soon move the conversation from Instagram to KakaoTalk, where the the messages were explicit and sexual in nature.
She had reached out to HLE directly in regards to Clid's behaviour online and the harassment, seeking compensation for the mental damage he had caused but received no response from the organisation.
Soon after, a second victim came forth with her own screenshots, which dated back to January 2022. According to @erica_ahri, she was first approached by Clid via Facebook during which she was reportedly underage, something to which she claimed Clid was aware of.
At the time of writing, both the LCK and HLE have yet to issue any public statement regarding the sexual harassment allegations. Clid will miss HLE's match against Dplus KIA today and will most likely miss the team's next match, which is against Gen.G Esports on 2 July.
