How has Zeri performed so far in competitive play?

Zeri has made multiple features in professional play, but how has she done so far?

Ever since her debut last month, Zeri has been sending shockwaves across the Summoner's Rift. The Spark of Zaun has been one of the shining stars in League of Legends since her release, making the jump to pro play in no time at all. She is also one of the latest champions released by the devs with Renata Glasc making her debut soon.

A champion that prides herself on her mobility and speed, Zeri is capable of doing high burst damage in a really short amount of time. Pair that with her unique playstyle, the Spark of Zaun has steadily become one of the top-picked AD carries solely due to her unique skill set. Of course, that doesn't stop Riot Games from bringing the nerf hammer down on her with their latest patch update 12.4, which will be dropping tomorrow.

However, even with the impending nerf incoming, that has not stopped pro players from picking her during official league games. Across all the professional leagues that are currently ongoing, Zeri has been banned a total of 285 times and picked on only 99 occasions. In those matches, she's gone on to win 61 while losing only 37 in the process. This leaves her with a 62.6 per cent win rate, which is pretty good considering how broken she can be in high elo ranked gameplay.

In professional matches, Zeri also has an average KDA of 5.5, an average CSM of 9.4, a GPM of 453, as well as a DPM of 592. Zeri has also been played in three different lanes, featuring three times in the top lane, once in mid, and spending the next 95 matches in the bottom lane. Of course, there is more to it than just that.

Zeri has only lost once in the top lane so far with an average KDA of 4.9 and a DPM of 764. When in the mid lane, her KDA rises to the highest of 5.5 while her DPM drops slightly to 602. It is worth noting that she has only ever played one game in the mid lane. But when she assumes her natural AD carry role, she has an average KDA of 5.5 but her DPM drastically drops to 586.

But out of all the regions that she has featured in, it is the LCK and the LPL who have favoured Zeri quite heavily over the past few weeks. She has been picked a total of 13 times in the LCK as well as 11 times in the LPL. She also has similar win rates, standing at 53.8 and 54.5 per cent respectively. With both South Korea and China currently the heavy hitters in League of Legends, the other regions will do well to take note of how the top two regions in the game are currently performing.

SANDBOX Gaming has been one of the few LCK teams that have utilised Zeri on four different occasions. Unfortunately, it hasn't quite worked out for them as they are currently 1-3 with Zeri in their starting line-up. As for the LPL, Rare Atom has picked her three times, losing twice and only winning once. While Zeri has been a popular pick throughout the various regional leagues, she has not really been able to consistently prove herself on the Rift.

It remains to be seen how badly Zeri will be nerfed in the upcoming patch update, but it could be a big one as many have taken to social media to voice their concerns over how 'broken' Zeri has been. Be that as it may, it's about time Riot introduced a champion as unique as Zeri with her one-of-a-kind kit that focuses primarily on stacking attack and movement speed that will correlate with her attack damage. And with Renata Glasc now on the way to the Rift as well, it'll be interesting to see how she fits into the current meta of the game.
