According to a post on Origen’s website, Jesper “Zven” Svenningsen and Alfonso “Mithy” Aguirre Rodriguez are parting ways with the top-tier European franchise.
The reason for the parting is unknown, but their destination might not be. Recently, rumors pointing toward the bot-lane combo joining forces with G2 Esports have become more common. The details of any possible transactions are yet to be confirmed, and the original post presented very few details about the situation, but Origen notes that they have indeed engaged in negotiations with another organization.
The duo will likely remain in Europe seeing as the Summer Split is right around the corner, which would give any outside team they could possibly join very little time to acclimate to their new players and reconcile import rules.
There is also the question of how Origen recovers from the loss of their bot-lane duo. These two were literally world class in their roles, helping Origen reach the semifinal round at Worlds last season. Finding players at that skill level might prove difficult, especially considering the sheer amount of talent that has already been moved throughout this offseason. Origen has been crafty with talent acquisition and management in the past, but this loss might be a different beast entirely.
