Team Liquid decides to focus on finalizing their roster for the 2016 season, leaving Dignitas to replace them at IEM Cologne.
Team Liquid were voted into IEM Cologne, placing second with a 21% of the total votes. It wasn't completely known if they would attend due to their top laner Diego “Quas” Ruiz being recently suspended. It appears they have opted out of the tournament, citing a need to shift their focus on locking in their roster by the December 7th deadline and making sure all paperwork and visas are completed and approved for the next split.
The Replacements
With 7% of the total vote, Dignitas placed third, making them eligible to take over TL's spot. They will be debuting their new roster, giving us a preview of what is to come for the new DIG line up.
Historically, DIG is a team that is known for underperforming. Whether it be in the LCS or last year's IEM Cologne, the team hasn't been able to prove to everyone that they are a force to be reckoned with. With a new coaching staff and new players, we will get to see whether or not DIG is moving in the right direction.
Conclusion
We will see what the newest coaches and players on DIG will bring to the IEM stage. IEM Cologne takes place December 18th through the 20th. The current teams going to IEM Cologne are Cloud 9, Qiao Gu, Ever, Fnatic, and H2k.
