Evil Genius' with three subs suffered a defeat to Cloud 9 while XDG won a hard-fought battle against Team Curse to pull them out of their slump.
Curse Gaming were just coming off of a hot streak and XDG were desperate for a win. XDG vs. CRS kicked off with a lane swap utilizing Zuna on Jinx for XDG in order to grab an early turret advantage. The first four towers dropped very quickly, with XDG throwing off the balance with a first dragon. XDG slowly continued keeping a lead while baron ended up baiting both teams to death several times.
IWillDominate was able to pull off an extremely clutch baron steal, but it wasn't enough to secure an advantage that would seal the game for them. After several barons and back and forth action, XDG showed the stronger performance and were finally able to shut down the win streak of Curse with a much needed victory for themselves.
The second game of the night would not have the same backstory or hype. In fact, the game ended very quickly, starting off on the wrong foot with 2 early deaths on Ken. Sneaky was the highlight player of this game and drove his advantage to large heights.
Unfortunately, Evil Geniuses were not able to put up a fight against one of the strongest North American teams while missing three of their key players. This resulted in a tie for 3rd place and last place while TSM and C9 stayed the decisive leaders of the NA LCS followed by CLG directly behind them.
