In a post on their official website, the Supa Hot Crew has announced that founding member and starting mid-laner Amaury “Moopz” Minguerche has been removed in favor of new player Marcin “Selfie” Wolski.
Entering into the European League Championship Series in a near-miracle situation following the Lemondog’s failure to submit a roster, Supa Hot Crew has struggled since the start of season and currently sits in seventh place with an 8-12 record. After a disappointing 0-4 performance in Week 8, the team has decided that a change was required if they were to turn their losing ways around and avoid relegation.
Moopz was a founding member of the squad, known for his Gragas and Morgana, and the post states that “without Moopz [entering into the LCS] would not have been possible”. Despite this, Moopz has struggled to find consistency when facing off against the best mid-laners Europe has to offer. His replacement, Selfie (formerly known as CHUYou) is a rising talent who previously played with Meet Your Makers following Czaru’s departure.
Of the change manager Michael Schnorr said:
“Today is a sad and happy day at the same time…after we finished Superweek 0-4 we knew something needed to happen and we really tried to use the free time to solve our problems internally but after some time it became obvious that we need to try a change within out lineup. While I want to use this opportunity to thank Moopz again for all the time and passion he spent with us I also want to welcome Marcin “Selfie” Wolski…Selfie immediately proves as a valuable addition in scrims and if he can transition this performance to the stage I feel we will have a lot of fun with this young talent.”
The new roster will face an immediate test, with Supa Hot Crew set to face-off against Millenium on Thursday and Alliance on Friday as the EU LCS resumes.
