After a long Gold Series season filled with action, MVP Black dominated every other team to become the champions.
MVP Black is no stranger to winning, and they've once again proven just how good they are in the Gold Series Playoffs. They absolutely dominated their bracket and didn't drop a single game in the playoffs until the grand finale. MVP Black stomped eStar Gaming, who went on to win the lower bracket and give MVP Black quite a challenge in the final series.
The Korean and Chinese metas tend to vary from the western-style meta, and these top teams showed us they can win with heroes that the West doesn't necessarily pick. MVP Black won with Tychus, who hasn't seen serious competitive play in a long time in NA and EU but is becoming a top tier pick in China and Korea.
Artanis was a creative choice against Sake's Tychus, but the combined DPS of Falstad, Sonya, and Tychus was too much for the bruiser to sustain. MVP Black won another game with Tychus.
Also worth noting is this amazing mosh pit on the side of MVP Black in Game 2 versus eStar. With such a solid lead ahead of eStar, this was just icing on the cake.
Despite MVP Black crushing the competition, they did not qualify for the Summer Global Championship. Through Gold Series two Chinese teams, X Team and eStar Gaming, were the qualifying teams. MVP Black did win $46,200 but they're going to have to win a Korean qualifying event to represent at DreamHack Summer in Sweden and defend their title as the best Heroes of the Storm team in the world.
