Get ready for crime, mob families and – plot twist – multi-class cards!
After Goblins vs Gnomes, The Grand Tournament and Whispers of the Old Gods, Hearthstone is ready for its next pack expansion. The trail of teases has led us this far, to the mean streets of Gadgetzan, Goblin’s capital city.
Initial promo images featuring the notorious city left fans wondering at the start whether Hearthstone will make a nod to its first ever expansion, Goblins vs Gnomes, and revisit mechs, spare parts, RNG cards or any of the other defining characteristics of that expansion. We now know that it won’t be the case.
Mean Streets of Gadgetzan (or Gadgetzan for short) takes place in the post-Cataclysm world and sees the city under the control of three mob families, associated with three of the Hearthstone classes each:
- Hunters, Paladins, and Warriors are associated with the Grimy Goons.
- Mages, Priests, and Warlocks are the magic using outcasts of Gadgetzan known as the Kabal.
- Druids, Rogues, and Shamans make up the Jade Lotus – the assassins of Gadgetzan.
The unique thing about the expansion is the addition of tri-class cards, a first in Hearthstone’s development. The tri-class will be used by all classes which share a mob family, and open deckbuilding opportunities aplenty.
