With Team Liquid and Curse Gaming already beginning a squad for the resurging Nintendo fighter, Cloud 9 jumps on the hype train and picks up one of the strongest American players.
Having world class players in big titles such as SMITE, League of Legends, and Dota 2, Cloud 9 sets their eyes on the Smash scene, picking up Mang0. Mang0 is one of the most prolific contenders in Smash Brothers, competing with the best of the best at the start of his dominance at EVO in 2007.
Many consider Mang0 the strongest Melee player in the world after his victory at EVO 2013, which surpassed 100,000 viewers live on stream last year. Cloud 9's head manager Jack had a statement on the matter:
Smash Brothers came in very strong at EVO 2013 and we can’t wait to see what the rest of 2014 has in store for the Smash community,” said Jack Etienne, Owner and General Manager of Cloud 9 HyperX. “Mango’s highly competitive spirit and caliber of play fits perfectly with the rest of Cloud 9. Once we saw his experience and tournament record, there was no question that he was right for the team.
