It could be argued that British poker pro Sam Trickett is the hottest poker player in the world right now. He had his best year in 2010 winning the PartyPoker World Open VI and making two WSOP and an EPT final table on the way to collecting $1,071,356 in tournament earnings in addition to his cash winnings. Those numbers now pale in comparison to his results in the first six weeks of 2011.
Trickett won the Aussie Millions $100k Challenge and a finished runner-up to Erik Seidel in the same series' $250k Super High Roller in January earning $2,892,889.
The €5,000 WPT National Series Paris drew 188 players to the Aviation Club De Paris last week.
Trickett sat in second as the field played down to 10, but faltered doubling up three players to watch his once formidable stack dwindle before reaching the TV final table of eight. He will have some work to do Monday if he want's another title.
