From fans to creators; The story of Grupo LUA

Community content is crucial for the growth and sustenance of esports and Grupo LUA has been playing a crucial role in enhancing Dota 2.

Esports thrives on fan engagement and interaction. Community content strengthens the bond between the players and the audience and creates a sense of belonging among the fans.

Not only does content help in the organic expansion of the scene, significantly boosting the visibility and popularity of specific games, tournaments, and teams, but it also fosters loyalty among the fan base.

Basically, without the community content the industry just isn't the same.

Based in Brazil, Grupo LUA  is a group of three creators (LiL, Urso, and Ace) who ‘sell creativity’ and help organizations, players, and key stakeholders identify and develop content for the fans and community.

These guys know that esports organizations and platforms can benefit from a diverse portfolio of content, which adds variety to the existing content landscape, providing a fresh and unique perspective on the games and players. This diversity helps in keeping the audience engaged and interested over a longer period.

And Grupo LUA is doing its part to ensure that Dota 2 in South America and beyond continues to thrive.

From fans to creators; Grupo LUA

At The International 2023 in Seattle, GosuGamers had the opportunity to work alongside LiL and ACE and see them in action. Their passion, their energy, and the vigor they bring to crafting content were not only obvious, but it was contagious. We were engaged and interested.

We just had to find out more about their story, their thoughts on content creation in esports, and specifically the current state and future of Dota 2 (and esports) in South America.

Grupo LUA proves that an active and engaged community contributes to the overall sustainability of the esports ecosystem. When fans actively participate in creating content, it demonstrates the longevity and vibrancy. This, in turn, attracts sponsorships, investments, and partnerships, which are essential for the long-term growth and stability of the esports industry.

By leveraging community content effectively, esports entities can foster a thriving and inclusive environment that benefits all stakeholders, from players and teams to sponsors and fans.

There was a time when there weren't any players from South America competing at Valve-sponsored events, let alone eleven.

There was a time when there weren't any international events happening in SA, let alone a Major.

But here we are —for the fans, the rising players, the content creators, and the future generations dreaming of starting professional careers.
