Ubisoft has delayed Assassin’s Creed Shadows a second time.

Ubisoft has announced that it’s pushing Assassin’s Creed Shadows’ launch date back to March 20, 2025 from February 14, 2025. This marks the game’s second delay, as it was originally planned for release on November 12, 2024. This is a much less severe delay than the first however, only setting the game’s launch back a few weeks.

Here’s the official announcement from Ubisoft:

Ubisoft delays Assassin’s Creed Shadows again

Assassin’s Creed Shadows has officially been hit with another release date delay. In a press release, the company explained the delay by saying “as part of the renewed focus on gameplay quality and engaging Day-1 experiences, it has been decided to provide an additional month of development to Assassin’s Creed Shadows.

“This additional time will allow the team to better incorporate the player feedback gathered over the past three months and help create the best conditions for launch by continuing to engage closely with the increasingly positive Assassin’s Creed community. The game is now scheduled for March 20."

Ubisoft’s co-founder Yves Guillemot added:

[...] we are all behind our teams’ efforts to create the most ambitious Assassin’s Creed opus of the franchise and made the decision to provide an extra month of development to Shadows in order to better incorporate the player feedback gathered over the past three months that will enable us to fully deliver on the potential of the game and finish the year on a strong note.

Ubisoft has been facing some troubling times of late. With multiple lawsuits and a potential buyout looming on the horizon, along with the poor financial performance of Star Wars Outlaws, the company likely wants to take its time and get Assassin’s Creed Shadows right.
